Hi everyone,
I just bought a Walk away the pounds-Walk and Kick Dvd. I put it in the player to watch it so that I could see what I was in for and it looks like fun, with moves that are not too hard. (Which is good for clumsy me!! :rotfl: )
Has anyone on here done WATP and found success with it? What other WATP dvd's do you all like? Thanks!!! :goodvibes

I have the 3 mile walk away the lbs fat burning one or something. I LOVE WATP. :)

I'm starting back up trying to get it in daily especially with some recent scale success. I want to keep it up! ;) :thumbsup2

walk and kick? haven't heard of that one

right now i'm using Leslie's new 5 miler, it has one 5 mile routine and two different 3 mile routine (all from within the 5 miles) it's definately quicker for those who have found themselves accustomed to the WATP workouts

I started WW and WATP on January 19, 2006 and so far have lost 58.2 pounds. I started with the 2-mile walk with weighted balls, moved up to the 3-mile w/ weighted balls. My favorites are the 3 mile express (uses a stretchie band), the 4 mile super challenge, the new 5-mile, walk/jog (30 minutes alternating walking and jogging) and walk strong (uses weights and alternates walking with strength training). Leslie Sasone has a ton of videos available 1-5 miles - check out her website www.lesliesansone.com. You can buy her videos there, or try www.collagevideo.com as well. They have reviews of her tapes. www.deepdiscountdvds.com also has her tapes for a great price.

I exercise with her tapes 6-7 days a week, sometimes 2x's a day!

Hope you don't mind for me asking but what did you weigh when you started? I weigh about 222 right now and don't exercise so I am feeling a bit overwhelmed!! If you don't want to tell your weight I understand!!! :goodvibes

I love the Walk and Kick. I got it at WalMart back in December and have only used it a few times but I really liked it.

My starting weight was 237 and I never exercised. Try the tapes - start with the 1 or 2 miles, do what you can. Just try to keep moving - keep your movements simple - you will build up your endurance. Leslie's tapes are so motiviating - I know you can do it!!!

Thanks for the encouragement. I'm inspired by you since you have lost over 50 pounds! That is great!!!! :goodvibes

Go for it! I just did the WATP 2-mile to get back into the swing of exercising. I'm starting out a little higher than you and I didn't exercise, but I was able to get through the 2-mile. I'm hoping to do the 2-mile for a couple of weeks, then move up to the 3-mile.

blue_eyes5212 -

I have been doing these off and on for the past couple of months - but I really need to get serious and do them everyday. I started out with the DVD that has a 2 mile and 1 mile. The 2 mile was not enough for me so I would do the 2 mile twice. I finally ordered the 4 mile and I really like it. It is enough that it feels like I am getting a great workout, but not so much that I think I am going to die!

I would lose 10 lbs and then stop and put it back on - completely my fault.

If you want to start a support group - I would be glad to participate - I need someone to encourage me to do it everyday and I would be more than happy to encourage others!

You sound just like me.....lose 10 pounds, stop, gain it back, lose 10 pounds, stop, gain it back. I have done that for the past year!! And I'm tired of it!!

You mentioned starting a support group and I agree I would be glad to participate. I am on here every day and would love to do that! Do we just keep this thread going or what? :confused3 I thought about doing a journal like they have on here to talk about what is going on day to day, that kind of thing. Just let me know!!

Amanda

Sounds good to me. I did the 4 mile last night. I think reading this helped to motivate me!

My husband attempts to do it with me - He is just trying to be supportive but he gets "tired" about mile 2 and leaves! I think it is funny!

Amanda and Kelly,

A support group is such a great idea. It will help keep you motivated and walking. I would love to check in daily to see what everyone is up.

Hi All,

I already know today might now be such a good day for me. My husband and I are celebrating our 2nd wedding anniversary today. (Its actually Monday but we have to work) I know we are going out to eat and to the movies popcorn:: so it's probably not going to be a great weight loss day. But I am going to do the best I can and then tomorrow I'm starting this with a vengence!!!!!!!!!! Have a good day
and I look forward to talking to (motivating and getting motivation from) you all!
(Hope that made sense??!! :rotfl2: )

:grouphug:

I love Leslie's videos as well...they have just been sitting there collecting dust the past year though!

I am around 230 and Tammy, I find your weight loss really inspiring and motivating. I think tonight I will finally dust off my video and give it a go.

Thanks for the reminder and the inspiration.

Good luck to all of you! :cool1: And Tammy, keep up the good work!!
:cheer2:

Amanda - Happy Anniversary, hope you enjoyed your day out! Have you tried the walk/kick yet? I'm anxious to hear how you like it. Ok girl - tomorrow's Monday - are you rady to get up and get moving. You can do it - trust me - you will feel so much better after you exercise and you will be so proud that you did it - please post back!

Bnhasak - thank you so much for the compliments. Please dust off you tapes/dvds and start walking. Check in here and let us know how you are doing. Leslie is great motivation and I know you will continue to enjoy working out with her.

I did the walk/jog tonight - that is one of my favorite 30 minutue tapes. This morning was the 1st morning since January 19th that I didn't get up and exercise in the morning. I felt guilty all day. I started strength training this week at the gym and my warm up is 12 minute intervals of walking/jogging on the treadmill and boy is my left foot sore. I could hardly walk last night. Couple of advil later, it felt better so I thought I would do a short work-out.

Good luck with the exercise ladies - talk to you tomorrow!

Tammy

Hi Everyone!!

Tammy, Thanks for the anniversary wishes!

I haven't done the dvd yet, but I did go to the local park with my mom and husband and walked 1 and 1/4 miles. So I did get in some exercise!!! :thumbsup2 And I have stuck with my WW points!!! :thumbsup2 So I consider today pretty successful!! YAY!!!

I plan to do the DVD tomorrow!

I would imagine that I burned a whole lot of calories today besides walked
because we cleaned house like crazy!!!

Good luck tomorrow (Monday) to anyone who reads this!!! :goodvibes

Amanda

What exactly are these tapes like? Do you just walk in place for different amount of times? I don't think I could stay with that, sounds boring.
I was just wondering!! :sunny:

Katerbug, I will let someone else answer your questions about the WATP. I've not gotten to do it yet. It was my plan to do it today, but I woke up in the middle of last night throwing up.....and have laid around all day  . Hopefully tomorrow will be better!

Amanda

Amanda, I hope you are feeling better.
BTW, why do stomach bugs always seem to attack at night. I have never heard a reason why, but they always seem to happen then. YUCK!

Not that there is a good time to puke, but....

Get better soon.
