well........it took me a while to figure out what WATP was on this site. SOOOOOOOO..... once I found out I pruchased them(yes the set!) (on half.com new and cheap!)Anyway, I thought to myself, I have 4 kids two are still home withme furing the day and I dont have a double stroller. My four year old doesnot want to walk around the block so what a perfect idea. Then when I got them I thought, this is silly..... a mile here in my livingroom and I cant actually get tired. Needless to say I dont think Ill be getting to the 2 mile tape too soon. LOL. What a great idea (to bad I didnt think of it! lol) Anyways anyone see any results they think may be due to doign the tape? How often do you do WATPs? FEEDBACK>>>>FEEDBACK please.

I have to admit that I am far better at going to Curves regularly than I am at popping in those WATP tapes! What I have found is that if I force myself out of bed even 20 minutes early so I can do the 1 mile tape, I feel soooo much better during the day. I love the 2 mile, and I find the 3 mile a real killer -- give me extra rounds at Curves instead ;) I think the best things I have noticed from WATP is the extra strength I have in my butt and thighs. As our dear WATP friend Lesley would say, "those lower body muscles are what power our walk" and she is so right. I have incorporated the knee lifts, kick backs etc into my recovery boards at Curves and I find that I can do these extra things that help my legs and still stay within my target heartrate. Give yourself some time to work up to the 2 and 3 mile tapes ... they really do make a difference :)

WATP you ask?? I answer with.... Love it, Love it, Love it!!!!! Wiskband, there are a bunch of us that use/used WATP as our primary way to exercise. The walks are great!!!

I started WISH and WATPing at the same time, and I have worked through the miles 1, 2, 3 and 4. It was only when the 4 mile no longer felt like it was enough that I started looking elsewhere for my exercise. I WATPed every other day with my weekly minimum being 3x. At one point my exercise goal was 5 times a week for WATP. I continue to use the tapes today! On the days I don't go to the fitness center, if I need the urge I will throw in the 3 or 4 mile tape. They are GREAT! It keeps my heart rate right in the 60-70% range which is perfect for weight loss.

I give much of my total weight loss credit to WW and WATP. Check out the family photo thread, I think my pics are on page 7, to see what WATPing can do!

Good luck with the tapes!!!!!!!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

I have the 1, 2 and 3 mile walks on DVD and I really like all three of them. However, if I do not get out of bed first thing and do my workout (WATP or anything else for that matter) it doesn't get done. I work fulltime outside the home and am too physically and mentally drained when I get home to do more than walk the dog. When I'm faithfully using WATP at least every other day, I do feel a difference.

I'd recommend WATP!

As the weather is getting frigid here(quickly and early this year) in Ohio, my evening walks are going to get tougher...so I'll ask the dumb:rolleyes: WATP question that I've been wondering about. :scratchin

What exactly are the tapes like? I am trying to imagine why they call them "walk away" the pounds when you are actually in your living room. So, please, give me the scoop. I am really debating buying them, but I really hate :crazy2: exercise videos, so please convince me that I will like these! :wave2:

Ill tell ya I DO NOT LIKE excercise videos myself I do have one that I bought like 15 years ago. BUt I noticed so many folks on her talking about WATP and I decided to go for it. I really would like to walk but as I stated my situation makes it very difficult for me. I bought them on HALF.com all three for about 10 bucks and they were factory sealed so they were new. I did it today for the first time and believe me I was very hesitant to think that i would actually feel it and I did. i plan on doing it every day and cant wait till I get up to the 3 mile tape. Good luck in whatever you decide but Id say go for it you got nothing to lose OR....maybe you do. lol

Obsessed w/ Disney, let me try to explain.

The base move on the WATP tapes is walking / marching in place. She stresses lifting your feet off the ground. Everyone can do this! There's music that sets the pace. You start off at a slow pace and slowly build up to a faster pace and then slow down again towards the end.

There are only a couple other moves that you do. One is a kick to the front. One is a step to the side. Another is a knee lift. The moves are very easy.

At times, you also move your arms, like reaching straight up and pulling down, or extending them out to the side or front.

All the moves are super easy, but I really feel them!!! This is not a complicated workout but it does work!

Hope this helps!

I got 2 WATP tapes a few weeks ago. I think they're a terrific way to get that aerobic workout. I have a treadmill, but it's so boring. With WATP there is some variety to keep things interesting. Plus you get an arm workout.

If you're looking to tone up specific areas, like your abs, you will need to do other things as well. The main part of my exercise routine is yoga and pilates. I've only been at it 2 weeks, but I can already see a hugh difference in my muscle tone.

Have fun with those WATP tapes! :sunny:

Obsessed w/ Disney,
I think a lot of people like the WATP tapes because it is easy to follow. You don't feel like you are struggling trying to keep up with which step or movement she's on. Even when I was in good shape I always had trouble with work out videos. I felt like I was always tripping over myself and always trying to keep up with the changes. With WATP I never feel that way. The moves are simple and the pace is great. I always feel terriffic after doing them. Maybe you could check to see if your local video store carries them and you could rent one first. Good luck with your decision.

completely agree here. I'm VERY uncoordinated and would give up on other tapes because I'd be falling over my own feet. (I once ate a bag of chips sitting on my couch watching the Richard Simmons Sweatin' to the Oldies tape--and the whole time I thought "wow, those are complicated moves!)

That said, I can easily keep up with 99% of the moves on WATP. There is one doing the "grapevine" with some arm movements that I get turned around backwards on, but at that point I just do grapevine by itself. Leslie always reminds you "if you can't keep up with the steps, modify it!"

I've slipped away from WATP a bit--dh getting home later from work, we eat later, kids in bed later and I'm ready to crash. Of course, I know that's a lame excuse and now that I type it out I see how pathetic it is! Ok, ok, back to WATP!!

I think it's a great workout. At first I was skeptical, but the tapes really do keep my heart rate up. I especially like when the weights are added. Then it REALLY feels like I"m doing something! (I do not have the official WATP weights, I just use the ones that came with my treadmill)

HTH!

I love the WATP tapes also! I am not very coordinated and I feel like I can keep up with the moves on these tapes for the most part. I also feel like I get a much better workout than going for a walk outside because of the different movements involved. I definitely sweat more when I do these than I do when I walk outside LOL.

I'm going to go do my 3 mile WATP tape now!
