Due to Dennis' insurance, we have to get our prescriptions at Walgreens.
On 3 different occasions, the cancer doctors have ordered something for him and each time, the item is not in stock and needs to be special ordered.
I dropped off a prescription Friday for his neck (the doctor ordered something new due to the pain and bleeding) and again, the medicine won't be in til Monday afternoon.
I called the number listed on the back of the prescription card (walgreens health incentives) and complained. They told me that yes, the pharmacies should carry these medications and advised me to call the local store and ask to talk to the pharmacy manager. Well, I just did. Talk about an idiot! The man tells me that when we know the doctor is going to be ordering special medications, we should give them a heads up so that they can be sure it's in stock. Ah..............I am not the doctor and how am I going to know what they are going to order!!
He says that if they knew Dennis was undergoing cancer treatment, they could of helped. Excuse me, but each time I've had to wait for a medication, I have made it clear it was for someone being treated for cancer and if they looked at recent prescriptions, they would be able to tell on their own!!
I flat out told them that the pharmacy can be open 24/7 as they advertise but since their customer service isn't there, it doesn't really matter.
Thanks for listening to me...........just a bad day.
