Walgreens deals....what are YOU buying this week?

I went this morning and got:

$1.59 Reynolds Wrap
$1.59 Reynolds Wrap
$1.59 Reynolds Wrap
$1.59 Reynolds Wrap
$2.79 Aveeno Lotion 2.5 oz.
$2.79 Aveeno Lotion 2.5 oz.
$2.79 Aveeno Lotion 2.5 oz.
$2.79 Aveeno Lotion 2.5 oz.
-$3.36 Walgreens coupon for Reynolds Wrap
-$1 manu. coupon for Reynolds Wrap
-$1.50 / 2 manu. Coupon for Aveeno
-$1 manu. coupon for Aveeno
-$1 manu. coupon for Aveeno
-$8 RR from P&G deal last week
-$2 RR from P&G deal last week
Subtotal -.34
8% sales tax 1.13
Total .79

And I got back $10 RR for the Aveeno. The Reynolds Wrap was 4 for $3 with the Walgreens coupon. Plus I had a $1/2 Reynolds Wrap coupon. I wish I had another, but oh well. It ended up being .50 each for the foil.

Maggie

I'm surprised that you could use 2 RRs now. Supposedly, a memo was sent to all stores about only 1 RR per order. The wording has even been changed now to read only 1 per order. It makes it a real pain to do the Wags deals now!

I used a couple of my RR from the P&G deal last week to get the Aveeno lotions ($2.39 each). When you buy 4 you get $10 in RR. Only thing I really did this week.

I'm really not a big fan of Walgreen's especially now that you can only use 1 RR per order and you can not use them on ANY gift cards. (Just more reasons to shop at CVS.) Plus the fact that because they do not have a loyalty card you have to purchase all items at once. Makes it hard to deal any deal without speniding quite a bit OOP. I will only do a deal there now if it is really good or something I really need.

Sorry to be OT--but can you use ECB at CVS to buy gift cards??

Back to topic...........today my Walgreens has free one hour film developing, for anyone who has a roll of film lying around they need to develop.

I know. I was surprised too. My total after the $8 RR was around $2 something. I nonchalantly asked, "Can I use this $2 coupon too?" And she said, "Let's try." And it worked! So I'm not complaining.

The manager at this store last week told me that if I used any RR to buy another RR deal, the new RR wouldn't print. (I know you can't roll RR within the same deal.) I knew she was wrong, but whatever. I just used a RR from the P&G deal to buy 2 packages of the Bertolli that were on sale with RR last week, and the Bertolli RR printed out no problem. So, I dont think they are all together with it at this Walgreens.

I stopped going to the Walgreens by my work because the manager came out and wrote down my license plate number after I bought a Fusion razor with a RR (not from Fusion deal) and a manufacturer's coupon.

Maggie

I don't have the energy to do both cvs and walgreens..........plus walgreens is not close to me.......so its an effort to get there.
i did do some of the february deals, and i have a gift card to use from the rebates, but I can only barely get the cvs deals done,
and plus walgreens confuses me for some reason.
cvs is just so easy.

Why would he/she do this? :confused3 I assume you got a receipt, so it's not like you were stealing.

Ok, I just found this thread, and I read through most of it. I have a few questions for you guys. I just recently started going to Walgreens, and that is because I've read about some of the deals to be had, heard about it her on the Dis.
Ok, so my first question is...what is RR? How do I earn whatever the heck it is.
Also, if I use the Walgreen coupon can I also use a manufacturer coupon for the same item, even though I am already using a coupon (from Walgreens) for it? So the one item would have two coupons? Can you do that? :confused3

Two weeks ago I bought canned veggies for .59 a piece (I think it was) and this week I did the bogo Dryers ice cream and I'm estactic with those purchases, but it seems like I can be getting more? :confused3

Ok.. best I can do is that RR = register rewards. It's a receipt/coupon/GC thing that prints out with certain purchases that can be used like a gift card for your next purchase. Right? I've never used it before since I haven't bought anything that qualified.

Yes, you can use a manufacturer's coupon along with the Walgreens coupon. You can also use a coupon from the Easy Saver, with a coupon from the weekly ad, with a Manuf. coupon. I bought Extra gum this week with a weekly ad coupon (3/$2) and an Easy Saver coupon (99 cents off 3). I guess there was a manuf coupon as well but I missed it :confused3

Check the Easy Saver catalog at the beginning of each month. There are items that are free after rebate, and if you decide to get your refund as a Walgreens GC, you get 10% extra. I've done this the last three months and have gotten some pretty nice free items!

He said coupon fraud.

Maggie

What did you do that was fraudulent? I'm not trying to be funny. I really don't get this? :confused3
I thought you were allowed to use a RR along w/ a manu coupon. The only stipulations that I was told about at the store was now only 1 RR per transaction and you can't roll the rewards into repurchasing the same product and expecting another reward. Are there other rules of which I am unaware. Just asking because I went to Walgreens tonite as I wanted to drop off some old film. OT, but I can't wait to see what these pics are of, as I have NO IDEA. I think they will be of an old WDW trip as it is 800 sp film and I always bought that for the WDW trips. But maybe not....
Back on topic,;)
After dropping off film, I purchased 2 pkgs of Scotch tape (website had a coupon where you could get a 3 pk for 99cents, limit 2) My store had the bonus 4 pk.:cool1: extra free roll of tape. I bought those. Then on the way out the door (don't ask why not on the way in, that would've made too much sense ;) ) I grabbed a flyer. Saw they had a deal on Crest products buy 3 for $9 and get $3 RR. I grabbed a big Mouthwash, a tube of toothpaste (which also had a bonus bottle of mouthwash 250ml attached), and a glide? floss. I had $1 coupons for each. Which made it $6 and still got $3 RR. I then bought a pack of Venus Disposable razors for DD12 that were $6 and used a $3 manu coupon and $3 RR. According to your store, did I commit coupon fraud? and if so, how? I did send DD back in to buy another set of 2 toothpastes and 1 mouthwash. Again w/ 3 $1 coupons. She paid the rest in cash. I was really happy because the Tpastes were the cinnamon flav and that's my fav and not so easy to find around here. I know, I know, I shouldn't be so picky as I have about 55 tubes that I've acquired for free or nearly free thanks to the CVS threads.
So I am doing something wrong? Or is the mgr at your store just a little :rolleyes1 ?

I just think some managers/employees think that by making the OOP low or nearly nothing, they think we are doing something wrong because we end up making money or breaking even. It's not rocket science and anyone who wants to take the time to learn it can do it but they see $9 razor -4 coupon get back 5 register reward = you just got that product free :confused3 How & why should you be able to get free product. Answer - because we are diligent, well planned out, smart individuals that want to take the time to pay as little as possible for some items.

I did this too this week, but I had to get the ones that were on sale for $2.63 because that was the lowest price in stock, I did have $2.50 in mfg. coupons though. Then I bought 6 of the Easy Saver rebate items and entered my receipt (we can do them online) and got this in email today:

We have received your Easy Saver April 2008 rebate request. Unfortunately, while your receipt information is valid, it does not include any purchases that qualify for a rebate at this time.

All 6 items came off their display for April Easy Saver so I don't know what the heck is up with that. I called and they said, "none of these items qualify, that's what it says." Duh, I know, that's what the email said too. I replied to the email and got an answer to call the toll-free number :dance3:

I bought the Wal-Zyr, Tum's packets, Jane (loose mineral blush), Aquafresh, 360 Deep Clean toothbrush and 3 Soy Joy bars (crazy I know, but I had a B2G1 coupon). Each item was the exact one pictured in the catalog and also in the special display.

EDIT: I know that if I go in to return the items, even if I have a copy of the email, I will be told I can't because they are free after rebate. It's over $20 in stuff that I wouldn't have bought otherwise; granted I had mfgs. for the toothbrush, toothpaste, Jane and one of the Soy Joy that took about $5 off, but still.

:thumbsup2 You got that one right!!

But still, what is he going to do w/ your tag #? Call the coupon police? :lmao:

Where did you get the $25 GC with transferred perscription coupons? Our Walgreens never offers those. I'd transfer our perscriptions in a heartbeat if they did!

Wait, so the items you bought for thr April rebate program are no longer valid? I bought the same stuff, and I printed their rebate form from their site, how is that possible?

I didn't do anything fraudulent. The coupons didn't beep and the cashier said nothing about it. That store manager was just a  and mad that I got the item for nearly free.

They are valid, mine was just denied for some crazy reason. In my state, we can submit online and I suspect that is the problem, something is wrong in their system and it isn't recognizing the items. I just called again, I don't think their customer service is set up to deal with online submissions because it's such a small group (Alabama Arizona, Georgia, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Tennessee and Wisconsin)

If you mail in your rebate, it will go through without a problem, as a real person visually looks at the receipt you send in.

I can't do online submissions in my state, but is there a possibility that you entered something wrong off of the receipt? When I've mailed my rebate in, I've never had issues with them denying the rebate (like you, I do carefully match products to the rebate book).

Thanks, it was very possible that I entered it wrong, so the first thing I did was go back in and re-enter the receipt, but it gave me an error that said I had already entered that receipt number. Online entry has you check the items you purchased from a list and then enter the RFN number on the top of the receipt.

I've never had a problem before this so I think I'm going to be much more careful in the future and not buy so many rebate items at one time, I was just afraid that if I waited, the store would be out of stock. I have to go to a very urban Walgreens in my area to find things because the suburbs are wiped out on the first day of the new Easy Saver. One bad thing about online entry here is that it caused people to start doing multiple submissions, probably even using phony addresses because they do gift-card reloads. There is always someone who has to ruin it for everyone else.

I'll probably end up sending it in the mail and writing a note at the end of the rebate period because they can't seem to fix it by calling or emailing. They'll at least see that the correct items are on the receipt if I mail it.

I posted this on hotcouponworld too ...

Here is what I did this morning. Its not the greatest deal, but it was all items I needed and was going to go out and buy this weekend anyway.

Scott toilet paper 12 pack 7.00
Scott toilet paper 12 pack 7.00
Walgreens Paper towel 3 pack 2.50
Walgreens Paper towel 3 pack 2.50
Kleenex 1.29
Kleenex 1.29
-$5/$20
-.75/2 Kleenex catalina
-$1 Scott coupon
-$1 coupon ????
-.80 Kleenex Walgreens coupon
-$10 catalina from Aveeno deal
Subtotal 3.03
Tax 1.10
Total 4.13

Plus I get $2 back for the Scott rebate.

We were out of paper towels and low on TP, so I'm happy with this.

Now I have to figure out how to best use my other $10 Aveeno catalina. I'm thinking of buying the monthly FAR since I haven't done them yet (except Toothpaste).
