Waldorf, Hilton Bonnet Creek, or Polynesian?

Considering the Poly is undergoing some serious reservations, I'm looking elsewhere for a great hotel experience. The grand floridian is $600+ a night which is just ******** expensive, as is the contemporary and bay lake tower. I'm not a fan of the lodges because I find their rooms lacking (wilderness lodge) or the location to be less than ideal (animal kingdom lodge). The rooms at moderates and values are too small for my taste. Boardwalk area resorts are booked up solid except for the beach club, but I think I'd prefer the quality of service you'd get at the waldorf vs. the beach club. Also the beach club is going to be about $2,300 for the week I'm going which I think is too expensive. I'd rather pay less elsewhere.

We did a split stay once that included Hilton Bonnet Creek, the Poly, and Universal's Hard Rock. Hilton Bonnet Creek was easily comparable for a much better price.

I have been looking at the Waldorf for fall 2015. I can't believe the rate I was quoted. It was just a little more than a moderate on property. I am more than tempted.

I'd go with the Waldorf. It is a fantastic hotel. You're on Disney property too, so you're not really giving up on location. You will be shocked at what more you get for money in terms of a luxurious experience, too. Something is very wrong when you can stay at a Waldorf cheaper than Port Orleans Resort.

Yeah it is hard to turn down such a stunning hotel.

I'm hoping you meant ridiculously (perhaps autocorrect) rather than the other "r" word that was used to indicate how expensive the hotels are.

We found an excellent price on the Ritz-Carlton: $177 per night in August — tho there's also a $30 per night resort fee (which includes two hours for two kids in their kids' club, which makes it worth it for us). Anyway, it adds up to $655 for three nights at the Ritz. We're doing that and then three nights in the Beach Club Villas via rented points. All told, a week split between the Ritz and the BCV for about $1,400.

in your case might try the 4 seasons - it is almost on property and it is newer than the ones you listed. you can see the CR from it

I just returned from a split stay at WL and at Hilton Bonnet Creek. LOVED HBC. We had a top floor room with a Disney View. We could watch Illuminations (at a distance of course) from our window. I was very happy with our room...much happier than our room at WL. I'd stay there again for sure! I would NOT stay at WL again.

The Waldorf is so great. I also always see it on Hotwire as the sole 5-star property in the Bonnet Creek area for a great deal, too, so if you aren't picky about room type, that is a great deal. the Hilton next door has access to all the same services, too, so it is a great deal, too.

The Hilton BC is fantastic. I'm sure the Waldorf next door is also fantastic but if you are staying there and want to use the pool the HBC has the better pool. Waldorf guests can use the HBC pool but you have to walk through the convention facility to get there.

As a Hilton Honors member we received a free upgrade to a Disney view room that gave us a nice view of the fireworks.

A PP mentioned the Ritz...it's a 20 minute drive to WDW if there is no traffic. It is a beautiful though, as is the JW Marriott next door.

Couldn't agree more. As the parent of a child who has been coded since the age of 3, I get very annoyed when people use this word in that way. My DD19 gets upset whenever she hears it.I realize that your probably didn't mean anything by this but it is hurtful. So sad that it now has such a negative conotation. Sorry for the rant but it just irks me.

From a strictly price/quality ration, you can't be the Waldorf. The rooms and overall service are far superior to the "deluxe" resorts on property. Plus you basically are on property at the Waldorf anyway.

Waldorf if you don't mind not getting EMH, sitting on buses and not having the Disney "feel." It's a lovely property and the rooms are spacious. The housekeeping is terrific and the pool is quiet. As others have said, if you want a better pool, you can visit Bonnet Creek. The restaurants are also very good at the Waldorf. Every time we have stayed there, there have been business conventions so keep that in mind. Waldorf is not a kid-focused hotel. A lot of adults, there's a lounge (bar) in the lobby, and no activities geared towards children.
