waldorf astoria opening soon, transport?

Anyone here how the transportation for the waldorf astoria is going to be? It opens in october. I think it is in the bonnet creek area.

What do you mean "how the transportation is going to be"??

Like any other luxury resort there will be a concierge that can handle transportation requests including airport transfers.

If you download the brochure under transportation it states "Transportation to local attractions" they don't say what kind but apparently they will have some sort of Transportation.

I would expect the W=A and the Hilton will join up with Wyndham Bonnet Creek, who contracts with Maingate Transportation. They have departures roughly every half hour each morning but to "shared destinations"---there is one bus to MK+EP, and one bus to AK+DS, every half hour on the half hour and quarter hour respecitvely, each morning.

Bonnet Creek is better than most offsite locations save the DTD Area, and it would work in a pinch, but I'd still want to have a rental car. You have to pay to get to and from the airport, and after that the additional cost of a car is pretty modest.

Also, the location is so central to WDW that cabs might be an inexpensive option if, say, you want to split up one day, etc

The target market of Astoria would pay for a taxi. I'm not sure they'll get that market in Orlando. I agree with Brian, it's likely they'll share buses with Bonnet Creek. The bus service might have a daily charge. Some offsite hotels charge for transportation.

The timeshare guests have transportation to the Disney destinations included, but the hotel properties could well pass the cost through. I suspect they won't, but we'll see.

I also suspect that once all three of the hotels and the final timeshare tower are open, the bus service might either become more frequent, or no longer share destinations as often.
