I was wondering if anyone goes to the Wal-mart eyecare center, and if so,Is it cheaper than other eyecare centers? It is time for my 45 year old realignment.lol.mrsdash:earseek:

I have an appt. for the first time 3/19. I was quoted $49.00 for exam, haven't looked at the frames yet.

I used them last time I got glasses. It was about $220 for the exam and the glasses.

I just went there when I got my first pair of glasses in January. The exam was $45 and I paid $325 for my glasses. However, they were the most expensive frames (of course:rolleyes: ) and I got progressive lenses because I'm to vain to have the lines show:rolleyes: They did a great job.

DH and my younger brother both use them. Not sure about costs, but they've had excellent eye doctors there and have been very satisfied.

I used to work in the vision center in Walmart. I can tell you we had quality frames and lenses.

As for the optometrists, I think what they charge varies, but I've never seen it higher than $50. Good enough for me, because I have no vision insurance.

I have used them for several years now and bought several pairs of glasses. Just like any other eye care place you can spend as much or as little as you want. They have great frames in many different price ranges. They eye exam was $40 or $45. The people that work there are very helpful in picking out frames and lenses.

They're the only place in my area that I know takes my insurance. So, it's a lot cheaper for me there than anywhere else. They're very professional and 2 of the ladies that work at my local one should be stand up comediannes.:p

Did you check to see if there were any coupons in Sunday's paper or on the internet for other optical center specials. There are usually good sales this time of the year because of tax refunds and people want to get two pairs or more (sunglasses). Some chains will match their competitors in pricing.

Never been there for an exam, but have gotten glasses, contacts, etc from them. They are great on that part. Their warranty is wonderful with children, or I guess rambuctious adults too! The prices were very good. Not as good as Costco is you have one of those, but a lot better than the physician's offices, and the guarantee is a lot better also.

Me and my eyes thank you all.lol I am going to make an appt. today.{hugs}mrsdash
