I was just watching our cruise video and a question occured to me. Can you get a wake-up call on the boat or do we need to invest in a travel alarm clock? I would hate to miss breakfast!

Yes, you can get a wake-up call. :) They are supposedly putting clocks in the rooms too but I have not heard anything about the status of that. I always bring a small travel alarm too just so I can see what time it is if I wake up in the middle of the night.

The wake up call is cute. It is Mickey calling to let you know it is time to get up. Very simple to program...

Last time I put in a wake up call, and then had the continental breakfast delivered for 15 minutes after that.. So I had munchies and coffee around while I was getting ready :)

If you are planning to use a wake up call on the last day of the cruise, I highly recommend you putting the call in early in the day.

The phone lines get very busy that evening and it is hard to get your call thru.

You can set your TV as an alarm too. We did this last cruise when we needed to get up early (I HATE a phone to wake me up). Just make sure it's loud enough to wake you and you don't just sleep through it.

We just got back and there are now clocks in the rooms. We used the clock plus the Mickey wake up call. It is still hard getting up with an inside room and no sunlight coming in ;-)

Were the clocks in the Wonder or Magic? Did they light up so you could see the time in the middle of the night?

oh boy are there EVER wake up calls.....we had one for 7am and at 7am the phone rang with Mickey telling us to get up,,my 2 1/2 year old thought that was great...then at 705 the phone rang, Mickey again, 710,,715,720,725,730 and every 5 minutes for the next 30 minutes LOL...after about 5 calls my daughter was screaming in the phone "Mickey Mouse STOP CALLING ME"...she saw him later inthe day and asked him "why did you keep calling and bothering us today"..of course he didn't answer which made her even MORE mad....to this day she is mad at him LOL...
BTW I finally called guest services and they put a stop to that harrassing Mickey Mouse mad phoner!!!

Wow, thanks everyone for the great information. I am curious, was the wake up call every five minutes an accident, or do they normally do that?

I believe someone had posted something about that a few months ago...you need to listen to the entire message before you hang up or Mickey will keep calling you back until you do listen to the whole thing!

I didn't know that you had to listen to the WHOLE thing. We got a call then another call. The first call was cute. We are two 50 something's and enjoyed the first call. The later one was a too much! Now, when I get to have my grandchild with me and she can listen to Mickey at 6:30a.m., then it will be cute again. Our DGD is almost 5 months old so it will be awhile before we need Mickey to call us.

We were just on the 9-28 cruise and we didn't see any clocks on the ship in our room or in any other rooms. Have they just put them in in the last 2 weeks? We were on the Magic.

Thanks, Kathy DW of Papa

Remember that the TV can be used as an alarm clock. On the first cruise in the middle of the night the TV came on. Got up turned it off, wondering what happened. The second night the same thing happened. Later that morning when I got up for real I looked at the TV. Someone set the time to that middle of the night time and then changed the language to French!! I now always check out any hotel's tv when we check into the room - I really didn't like that rude awakening.
