Waking up Tink

I have only read about it on this site. It is my understanding you will only see her "light". Kids seem to get a kick out of it. I am thinking about trying to do it on our next trip.

Waking-up Tinkerbell
If you are among the first to enter Tinkerbell’s Treasures shop (to your left as you pass through Cinderella Castle), your kid(s) may be in for a special treat. Ask the Cast Member if you can wake-up Tinkerbell. The kid(s) are given a sword (for boys) or a wand (for girls) and are instructed to tap on a small chest three times and say “wake-up Tinkerbell”. Sure enough Tinkerbell wakes-up and flies around the room in a dazzling display of lights and sounds. The helpers are usually given a certificate that proclaims that they helped wake-up Tinkerbell. If you miss this morning ceremony, Tink typically flies around the shop intermittently through out the day.

Thanks so much for this information... DD6 is all excited now! Just told her brothers... (DS17 & DS19) that we might get the chance to wake up Tink.... They are at this minute trying to show interest in this event... They have shared that they think we need to make this our first stop JUST so Abby can wake Tink! What big brothers will do to see little sis smile!

DD9 has done this on two of our trips. The first time she was pushed down by a mom who was trying to push her DD through the crowd to get into the store first. Lots of people know about this now, so I wouldn't get the kids hopes up...just in case.

The first person of the day to ask gets to come behind the counter. DD was given a special wand and asked to tap on the treasure chest while saying "wake up, Tinkerbell." Tinkerbell flight music is then piped into the room, and it sounds as if Tink is flying around the store. You don't actually see a Tink flying by, but there is a chest located near one of the entrances where you can sometimes catch her. The CM gave DD a Magical Moments certificate and a ton of stickers both times.

My advice is to be at the rope drop inside the castle and proceed directly to Tink's Treasures. It'll either be a mad rush or a piece of cake.

Line up on the left side of the rope under the castle. They open the rope from that side so you'll be among the first into Fanstasyland. Tink's shop is diagonally ahead to your left. If it's raining be careful because the pavement is a bit slippery! As soon as you hit the doors of the shop look for a CM and immediately tell them you want to wake up Tink. It's fun but it's definitely not worth pushing kids out of the way to do! I'm sorry that happened to you luvmy2sams!

Thanks! It was a bit shocking, but the CM saw everything and asked DD (4 at the time) if she wanted to wake Tinkerbell. The story had a happy ending.

Thanks for the info. I will be wary... I am sorry that happened to your daughter... perhaps I should explain to DD that we may get to 'see' someone wake up Tink.... she is somewhat shy...so that is probably best. It is nice to hear that it turned out good for your daughter.

Yes, my dd did it last year. They give the children a wand and they have to wave it at a little golden jewellery box behind the counter and say, 'wake up Tink!' Then the box will opne and the hologram of Tink flying around the room that's in Tinkerbell's Treasures all the time will start flying around the room. they get a certificate afterwards.

One thing I noticed: they like to give this to the little ones. People know about this and run like maniacs to get there. The most likely people to get it are people leaving CRT right before rope drop or people who ge tin the park early. Last year, we got in the park early. A CM asked dh to do a survey and said our family could tour the park before it opened if dh did the survey, so we were at Fantasyland rope drop at the right spot at the perfect time. Right after another little girl came in so the CM at TT asked if the two girls could do it together (we said sure). Right then two older boys came running in and asked and she abruptly told them she already had someone then turned around as sweet as pie to the two little girls. I think they want someone to do it for who it will be very, very special.

My (now) 9yo DD did this on her 6th b'day. It was our 1st day in the park for that trip and we had an ADR for CRT shortly after park opening. We got in early, got her a b'day button and went back to wait for the rope drop. It was in February, so not very busy. When we went into the shop and asked if she and her sister could wake Tinkerbell, the CMs said they had seen her b'day button and were hoping she would be the one to do it.
