So we just got back from Disney and we has attempted to wake up Tink, (the first person to ask a cast member at Tink's store, behind the castle, if they can "wake up Tink" will be allowed to do so) We had breakfast at the Crystal Palace and I scooted everyone out by 8:50 to get to the rope under the castle. when we got there, there were a few people but we managed to walk up to the rope (DD8 and I) on the Right side. We were prepared and I told her to run to the store and ask the first person she saw. When the CM came up to lower the rope she did it on the Far LEFT side, we were on the right. **So go to the LEFT.** She also said don't run. Well, noticing we were on the wrong side I told my daughter to go under the rope when she dropped the other side. She did and walked fast, but a young boy standing on the left side took off in a full sprint as soon as the CM dropped the rope. My daughter was in tears saying "but she told us not to run".

So My advice, stand on the LEFT side and have your whole group stand at the rope (to provide "blocking"), and walk fast, very fast.

My kids did this one time. It really isn't much of a big deal. They just happened to be first ones in the store, there was no rush to Tink. It is not worth making it a destination, IMO.

may i bother you...what happens if you wake tink up?

I believe a little bell rings and you get a certificate for waking her:) I may be wrong, so, if anyone else can give insight, please do so..no hurt feelings here..:)

The thing or hint that I am going to do is NOT tell my 10 yr old tink fanatic about it until I see we are the first ones in the store. That way if we are not the first ones I won't have a broken hearted girl and we can just keep on going about our magical day.

My daughter woke Tink up in December 2007, we ran all the way from the gate to the store and no one was there. LOL. I could have walked. All she did was say some words and tap the treasure box with a wand and then the Tink that flys around the store started to fly and then she got a certificate. I don't know if it was worth the running though :)

I can only imagine how upset your DD must have been.

We can an early ADR at AK We made it a point to be out at rope drop. My DD wanted to be the first on on the Safari ride. We were the only ones there UNTIL they droped the rope. A girl ran right in front of us to get ahead of us straight to the cast member. The cast member told her to stop running and asked her "where are your parents" at that time her mother and father shoved thier way in front of us saying "good job " DD cried the entire walk saying "they cut in front of us" With the family right in front of us all I could do is say "yes they did honey they are not very nice people"

We refuse to get involved in any of this. It's not worth the stress. We're not even there at rope drop. On our last trip I just took DD into the shop and asked if she could see Tink. Same exact thing, but with no certificate. DD was just thrilled. It's one of her favorite Disney memories.

Hello all! Question...what exactly is this?
We were in the store 2 weeks ago around closing time at 11 or so. A CM sees my DD wearing her happy birthday button you receive in the parks. She starts talking to her and tells her happy birthday. Then she asks her if she got a birthday greeting from Tink on the phone that day. She didn't, so CM "calls" Tink and let's DD "talk to her". While she's doing this, CM sprinkles her with pixie dust w/o her knowing. Then she asks DD if she would like to tell Tink goodnight. Ofcourse she wants to, so we walk to the front of the store and CM hands DD a bell and tells her to ring it and say "Tinker Bell" over and over. The lights start flashing around the room and then suddenely Tink appears in the box waves and then goes away. The CM tells DD to look at her shoulders/arms because Tink left a suprise for her. She sees that she's covered in pixie dust...she was thrilled and Dinsey magic for me! Very cute and very exciting to a 4 y/o!
Is this what you mean by waking up Tink...did we do that just in reverse by telling her goodnight?
Here are a few pics...

The nest time you are at Tinker Bell Treasures go to Tink's dresser and look in the key hole and you will see her wand lighting up. Very cute!

When we went we saw a mother and her two children ask if they could see Tinkerbelle. The mother very discreetly asked if they gave out certificates and the cast member behind the counter nodded and wrote them up for the girls.

The certificates are really an inexpensive way for a cast member to add a little magic... and sometimes all you have to do is ask.

It was really adorable.
