FYI. The Disney documentary Waking Sleeping Beauty is available for rent beginning today on iTunes and amazon.

I'm watching it now :goodvibes

I got Waking Sleeping Beauty and The Boys for Christmas. WSB is very good. I've watched it twice already. The Howard Ashman part makes me so sad though. Definitely worth the rental.

I watched The Boys over the weekend. It was really good but sad. Waking Sleeping Beauty is at the top of my Netflix list. I wish they would make it a watch now selection.

Watched The Boys on netflix a few days ago. I agree it was really good, but sad. Cant wait to see Waking Sleeping Beauty, I have had it in my blockbuster que forever and it's always on a wait, oh just checked it now says available yeah (but not in stores).

I loved Waking Sleeping Beauty. My husband knew Ashman, so we had an interesting discussion afterwards about his work at Disney.

FYI ... amazon.com has a $5 video on demand credit if you follow a Twitter link from their site. You can watch Waking Sleeping Beauty for free. Hurry though, the promotion expires tomorrow - January 1st.

The Boys was great. It has a very bittersweet quality to it.

Walt & El Grupo was good as well. I watched it and then watched Saludos Amigos/The Three Caballeros on DVD. You look at those films in a different way after watching Walt & El Grupo.

So far the best is Waking Sleeping Beauty. It's well done and fascinating.
I think I will be purchasing all three.

We bought the Saludos Amigos/The Three Caballeros DVD last year because my DD8's favorite WDW ride is the Gran Fiesta Tour (silly, I know) -- that DVD had a lot of extras on it including Walt's trip to South America. Does Walt & El Groupo have a lot more of this footage?

If you don't want to spend money on renting or owning, try your public library.

The Boys, Waking Sleeping Beauty, and Walt and El Grupo are available to library patrons in Maine.

If it is not at your local library, they can get it for you from another library.

Walt & El Grupo features photos and the personal accounts of the members of the group who went with him. They read letters that members sent home to loved ones and the reminisence of their families. There are also interviews of those they visited with while in South America.

The most interesting was Mary Blair and how her art evolved through her trip to South America. There is more photos and footage.

I rented this yesterday on my new (thanks Santa) Roku box through Amazon VOD. I loved this documentary and the insight it gave me as to what was going on behind the curtain while all of these movies were coming out.

The end result of these movies is something so magical, but wow, what corporate turmoil and politics were at play through it all.

US only. Not available in Canada yet, like every other freaking movie.

It is now I got it yesterday and watched it today. I had to search for the whole title it didn't show up with sleeping beauty. I had the option to rent it or buy it.

After watching it I wish I would've bought it, it was so good.

Did I mention that my husband now truly thinks I am a Disney Geek.:goodvibes

Watched Waking Sleeping Beauty last week from Netflix and loved it. El Grupo is going to be on Stars next week - already have the DVR set to record. Going to check Netflix for The Boys now. :)

I just watched Waking Sleeping Beauty last night and really liked it.

I confess I don't know all the details of the power struggles between Eisner/Disney/Katzenberg/Ovitz, but I felt more sympathetic to Eisner over Katzenberg.

I became a Disney fan during the Eisner years and believe I have Eisner to thank for Disney Hollywood Studios.

I watched this the day it came out on amazon.com. I guess my Internet connection that day was mediocre cause the movie would stop every once in a while. Today, I got an email from amazon that the rental few would be refunded! And this happened without even complaining. Cool in a way, but that means amazon is keeping tabs what and how I watch!
