"Wake up Princess"~A Wish Trip Report

My children the new Photographers of GKTW (the village in 45 minutes)

I had a 3pm orientation which was great because the schedule we received from Toby’s Dream had 7:45 on our time schedule and we had tickets for the MNNSSHP that night. At the orientation we received all the park tickets, her guest assistance pass, a photo card, her star and many other items we would use throughout the trip.
While I was at orientation the kids explored the village with the camera and also got their first of many ice creams. Jonathan keeps asking me how much things are because he doesn’t believe you can get food for free at the village. It’s really kind of funny!

Here's a few pics of the kids. I will do a full tour of the village later!

Next…
Where are you?!?

Whoo hoo! The villa! Oh and great pics of the kiddos! :)

Great pictures of GKTW and some amazing pictures of the kids. It looks like they were already having a good time.

LOVE the pictures!! Your kids are SO beautiful.

I can't believe how close you were to the playground!

Looking forward to more - can't wait to hear about Mvmcp!

How are you all doing weather wise? I know you all are on the eastern side of Virginia, and I have seen the flooding inthe DC area. Are you folks okay? I am a little paranoid about flooding since the great flood here in Nashville last May!

We are good!! THANKS FOR ASKING!!!
It rained for over 3 straigt days. The girls got a 2 hour school delay. THey were excited and took lots of naps on the couch. It ended up being a great time to catch up on some sleep but now the crazy catch up begins!!!

We were pretty lucky with minimal flooding. Some of our friends were not as lucky though!

Welcome back! Loving everything so far, and looking forward to more.

On a side note, I see your ticker for DH coming home for a couple of weeks, how wonderful!!!!

Jen

Thanks!! We had such a wonderful time!!

Now fighting getting caught up. Doesn't help that this is a busy time of year for us normally but now we add Amber's senior year stuff too.

I did add the new ticker. We are getting really excited for hime to come home. Trying to plan something fun while he's here.

“Where are you?” (Finding G-ma & G-pa/MNSSHP)

We headed off to the Shades of Green to meet up with my parents for the MNSSHP. They had not landed yet.
101_0597.jpg

We waited a while then decided to walk over to the Polynesian for a bit. They then called and said that their baggage and driver were not here yet. So we went ahead to the party and said we would see them there.

This is when the kids found a new passion... PIN TRADING!!! I had bought pins from eBay to start them out. It took them a little while to get into and understand it but then it became an obsession. Jonathan was on the lookout for Donald and Amber for Chip and Dale pins.

We decided to hang out for a bit in the Wish Lounge while we waited. This was also a good opportunity to change Haylee. We got some water then headed back out.

We walked around a bit when they said they were at the hotel and were going to the monorail. So we headed to the entrance to wait for them. We waited and waited. Took some pics and waited some more.
101_0599.jpg

101_0598.jpg

Jonathan got a text asking where we were. They had passed us and were on Main Street. We did the phone “where are you? What do you see?” FINALLY… there they are Amber says. We give our hugs and kisses and head down Main Street.
Photo0001.jpg

We decide to meet some characters first. Tink in particular. On the way we saw Donald and Daisy all dressed up. We walked up and the cast member grabbed us and escorted us straight to the front of the line. We spend time getting our first autographs and photos. This was actually very fun.
Photo0009.jpg

Next we headed to Toontown to find Tink. We asked where to take Haylee and we were taken down a hallway and asked to wait there. Within a minute there we were face to face with Haylee’s buddy. The fairies were really fun!! They were trying to figure out the big kids talents. Amber had on striped socks so they said she spoke caterpillar then when she said she cheered they kept on about how she claps for them when they need to make light. Jonathan was told he had the talent of walking on his head (he had his duck butt hat on). They spent wonderful time with Haylee.
Photo0034.jpg

Next we headed for the Princesses. I was so amazed that they all took so much time with Haylee and the kids and I were amazed at how in character they all were. They each had comments about the silly bands Haylee was wearing. One prince said Tink sold him they were stingy and pretended to get stung. It was really cute!
Photo0063.jpg

We then headed in to the "stars of the show" We had a great time visiting!!
Photo0074.jpg

Photo0095.jpg

Amber was having a great time watching for the balloons that marked where we could go trick or treating. More character and candy and we were starting to feel the long day already.
We walked around a bit grabbed some dinner then headed off for the fireworks. I’ve decided fireworks are the best when over Cinderella’s castle and will never seem the same again. We then hit up the first aid station for a bed to change Haylee. The first aid station is our saving grace with her!
We then went over for the parade. We had quite a wait and realized the last princess we needed was right behind us, Princess Tiana. We made our way over and to the exit. We get in the exit and look down. Guess what… Hayleee’s asleep. Go figure, so we decide to forgo it this trip. By now we are all getting really tired. After the parade we walked around a little more and decided to call it a day. We took the monorail then the bus to get to Shades of Green. My ankle by now is bruised, red and extremely swollen so I stayed in the lobby with everyone went to change Haylee and pack my parents bags for the night at GKTW. I was in charge of “guarding” the three FULL bags of candy from trick or treating. I actually fell asleep on the comfy couch they have there. Next thing I knew they were ready to go so we loaded in the van and headed back. We got there at 1am and gave my parents the quick villa tour and headed to bed.

Great update! BEAUTIFUL pictures!!

Thank you so much for sharing with us!

Lynn

I think we stayed up too late!! (Day 2/GKTW with Grandpa)

We had decided that we would spend some time at the village with grandpa today. He has limited time to spend with us this week and this is the perfect time to do her star and look around the village.
We all work up still tired, I think we stayed up too late!! We started the morning with breakfast at the gingerbread house. Then headed up to the gift shop for some goodies for grandpa.
100_2218.jpg

Then we headed back to the villa.
Since Amber takes so long to get beautiful, Jonathan, grandpa and I headed to Wal-Mart for a few things including a brace for my ankle. We picked up some drinks for the villa, a few snacks and lots of Gatoraide for Haylee for the week.
100_2219.jpg

When we get back everyone is ready and we head off to do Haylee’s star. We had decided ahead of time that Jonathan would do the star and Amber would do the pillows. Together Jonathan and Haylee finished the star. He wrote her name in the center and the initials of each of us on the points.
100_2230.jpg

100_2232.jpg

Star.jpg

When he was finished they gave it to the star fairy and sent it to the sky.
101_0635.jpg

We then headed over to the tree that makes the pillows. Amber helped Haylee to answer the questions then hold the button and shake the tree.
100_2247.jpg

Then out of the stump appeared the most perfect pillows. Haylee’s had the fairies on it and Amber’s has crazy colored sunglasses on it. These came in handy in the van for the rest of the week.

100_2248.jpg

100_2250.jpg

We took grandpa for some ice cream then afterwards mom and I sent grandpa and the kids off for a first for them. Put Put with Haylee. They grew up playing miniature golf with grandpa but Haylee never could. This is one of the wonderful firsts the village gave us.

101_0671.jpg

My mom and I walked around then went back to wait for them to finish their game. We stood and watched the trains for quite a while. There is an amazing train town there. Then we headed out to find them on the course. When we found them Haylee was asleep. This would become a trend with her for the week. I think it was because of the new medication. We took her into the building while they finished. When they returned grandma and I were driving the boats. Jonathan still can’t get over the fact that everything is free.
After a while it was time to drop grandpa off for his meetings. We were sad but we had to remember that this is why he got to come. We would see him again in a few days.

Coming up…
“You can never have too many best friends!! “(Day 2 cont/Hollywood Studios)
Or “Waiting to get jumped at the most magical place on earth.”

I am enjoying your TR so much - how precious that Haylee's brother and sister are so caring and attentive to her  What a special family you all are! I loved Mickey and Minnie's Halloween costumes!

You can never have too many best friends!! (Day 2 cont/Hollywood Studios)

We headed off to Hollywood Studios for the rest of the day.
We had an afternoon reservation at 50s Prime Time Café (at my mom’s request) so we had a little time to waste.

When we got there we took the kids to ride the Tower of Terror.
Photo0108.jpg

Then fought the parade traffic to try to find the Diner. The sidewalks were very congested making it very hard to get Haylee through. Then the hunt started to go bad. While we were walking I would say excuse me and most people would move a bit. As I got to one family they were really blocking the way so I said excuse me 3 times. Then thinking I had enough room I went behind them. The husband then started yelling at me. He was telling me to walk in the road. I told him to stand in the road then the wife started following us and yelling then Amber started to get upset. Then my mom said “Have a Magical Day!” then the guy called Amber and “idiot”. Needless to say by the time we turned off we were all a little shaken. Amber was really upset I was just waiting to be jumped at the most magical place on earth.
We finally got to our lunch and Amber just wasn’t quite getting it while mom and I are saying “we had that” or “grandma had that” or “remember that” It was a fun lunch.
We then headed off to Toy Story Mania. Grandma hung out and we took Haylee on. We loved it!! Then when we headed out we saw the huge line for Buzz and Woody. I heard a cast member say there was a 1hour wait. Then she looked out way and said please come wait here. Within a minute there we were. And Woody signed “I Love You” to Haylee and Buzz rang in with “Me Too!!” They were very sweet. In this pic my mom and I look like we are throwing "gang signs" we were teaching Buzz to say me too/same in sign language.

Photo0146.jpg

We then headed off to find where Jonathan could learn to draw a character which happened to be in the character meet and greet area. PERFECT!!! This is where Haylee met her new best friend and we were told “You can never have too many best friends” Jonathan headed off to the class and we headed off to meet the characters. We smelled strawberries and spotted Lotso and headed there first. Once again we were escorted straight to him. Haylee’s vision is not really great and she tends to not look right at anything but today would be different. She looked straight at him and stared. It was amazing!!! He spent a VERY LONG time with her.

Photo0152.jpg

We then headed to Scorcer Mickey. The line was very long but they spotted us and actually used sign language to tell Mickey that there was a Wish Child coming up. (We all know sign from when Haylee was younger) Then the magic started. Mickey got down on his knees. And stared at her. There was so much love in this meeting that I could not contain my tears. (I’m even having a hard time now) He brushed her hair behind her ears and kept stroking her cheek and her arm. I swear we were there for 5 minutes. I looked over and there were many people with tears. I felt bad holding up the line but I think other understood what a special moment this was for her. With the tears still flowing we said good bye and dried our eyes.

Photo0176.jpg

Then there were the Incredibles. When we got there the cast member said the time was over. So we sat against the wall to wait for Jonathan to get done. When all the children in the line were done we noticed the characters coming at us. They had seen Haylee. The cast member was telling them it was time to go but they kept coming. Right there they posed for pics and visited with her.

100_2260.jpg

We rode a few more rides and walked around a bit more then with Haylee sleeping again we decided to head for home.

The day had already been bad then turned GREAT!!
When we got back we ordered pizza to be delivered. The girls enjoyed the jets in the tub, ok well Haylee actually made funny faces at them. Then it was bedtime. Everyone was excited for Harry Potter tomorrow.

BUTTER BEER & Dr Seus!! (Day 3/IOA)

The day began with a visit from the Disney characters. *Note to future Wish Families.. bring your Mickey with you to get his feet signed, they will not do it in the park! We got pics and autographs then headed for breakfast.

100_2262.jpg

Amber was asked to go back before Minnie left for a posed pic with her with their bows on. She did not have it on in the morning because we had rushed her to go. So we went back and got some great pics. While in line we made friends with another family. They were from Canada. What a sweet family. We hoped to see them again. We found out they were using the shuttle so we let them get in front of us so they didn’t miss it.

MickeyMinnie480.jpg

We stopped by the gift shop again for shirts then picked up a camcorder for Jonathan. He wanted to tape all of Harry Potter and that he did!
We were excited to get to IOA to see the Harry Potter section. My kids are definitely Potter fans and had me watch the entire movie set so I would understand. I am still a little lost but they do laugh at me often especially when I talk about the “hairy guy” I did see his house today! So when we arrived we headed straight for this section. It was really neat. First stop the wand shop. Jonathan had said he did not need to do the show wand selection. So they showed us in through the store’s exit. I ended up going back out with Haylee. It was too crowded for her in there. After about 20 minutes the kids came out with wands and postcards. After playing with the wands a bit we headed out again.

100_2289.jpg

We headed for Hogwarts. They said we could walk through with Haylee then just not get on the ride. It was really cool. Haylee and I were taken through a door and we waited where the ride ended. Everyone loved it! Next we headed to the Flight of the Hippogriff. Haylee rode this one with Jonathan. If you look you can see the “hairy guys house” there. After that they kids checked out the stores. Amber got a chocolate frog and Jonathan got Every flavor beans. They are pretty gross!! Then we got Butter Beer (a must!!) we like the frozen.

100_2290.jpg

Next we headed for Seuss Landing. Amber has collected smashed pennies for as long as I can remember so this was a fun trip to add to her collection.

100_2294.jpg

We took Haylee on the "High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride". It was really fun with her because normally we have to hold her on rides but the way it is set up the safety bar holds her in very nicely. Then we met the Seuss characters and went on the Cat and the Hat ride, another new favorite for her.

100_2299.jpg

100_2303.jpg

100_2293.jpg

Haylee fell asleep again so we then circled the park riding rides for the bigger kids and enjoying the sites. This is one park that we had no problem finding shady areas to sit and rest with Haylee in. After the circle was complete she woke up long enough for one more Cat in the Hat ride and we headed home for the day.
When we arrived back we were greeted at the gate with the “Welcome Home!” I am loving this greeting more and more each time I hear it. I wonder if I can order this greeting from the gate guards each time I come home?!?haha
We rested for a bit at the villa then headed for dinner at the gingerbread house. They had some really cool cookies delivered in. Everyone was trying to feed Haylee some too.

100_2315.jpg

We decided to do some more wondering through the village also. It was parents night out so Jonathan offered to use some of the respite hours with Haylee for the night. We took him up on that and mom, Amber and I headed for Downtown Disney to find a Latso for Haylee. Mom and I had been there but it was a first for Amber. She really thought it was cool. We picked up some new pins but they told us Latso was sold out. They did call the local Disney store and they had some so we would head there another day.
We got home tucked Haylee into bed and got ready for another day!!

Next up..
“We need an emergency Mickey!!”

That was so sweet. It made me cry. A time to remember for always. I am enjoying this trip report a lot and cannot wait for more.

We need an EMERGENCY Mickey!! (Day 4/Ohana/Sea World)

Today we had a very early start. We needed to be at Ohana’s by 7:45am. We were excited to see Lilo & Stitch! Grandma brought leis and flowers for our hair for this special breakfast. This ended up being a rough morning for us. They delivered POG juice right away. For those who don’t know this is passion orange, guava juice. My kids were raised on it and haven’t had it since we left home. As we began to eat Haylee started to cry. She almost never cries so this was a sad time. I ended up holding her and not getting to eat much. But what I did eat was great! As the meal went on she got worse. We knew we had to get out. So we called over the server and said “she’s really upset and we have to get her out, we need an emergency Mickey” She ran off and before we knew it there was Mickey and Pluto followed behind him.

100_2377.jpg

100_2383.jpg

We quickly paid and we were off with Haylee now asleep again. We are starting to think it’s the new meds causing her to sleep so much.
We headed off to Sea World hoping for a smooth and short day!

As soon as we arrived we saw Shamoo. We waited in line and were scolded. “you wait for noting today!!” So we got a couple of pics and promised to remember that.

100_2394.jpg

Someone had told me to feed the animals first. BEST ADVICE EVER!!!!. We started with the rays. Lots of laughs there. Jonathan went to feeding. I was too nervouis and Amber kept squeeling and dropping the fish as soon as they came near her. It was quite a show!
Next we headed to the dolphins. I had been told to take Haylee out of the chair for this one. Jonathan picked her up and they placed fish in front of each of us. He was making Haylee hold the fish to seed them. Immediately a trainer came over and began his magic. Dolphins immediately came to Haylee. They were fighting over who could get on the side the fastest to be petted. They sang and danced for her also. It was so incredible!

101_0716.jpg

101_0712.jpg

When our turn was over and we were all wet we headed to the sea lions. My kids grew up feeding sea lions so we talked about that then notices the babies. They were so cute and small.

101_0725.jpg

We then backtracked through the park. The kids rode the Manta then we started looking for shows. I love shows!!! We headed for Believe and the begining brought tears to my eyes. They asked for all military and their families to stand. All could think was Neal is there and here we are! THANKS NEAL FOR OUR FREEDOM!!! The show was fun.

100_2405.jpg

100_2397.jpg

We then went to watch the acrobatic show. Haylee had to be taken out because she started to cry. This would be the start of a trend also. This show had us, well Amber and I yelling. There was a lot of tumbling in it and we know how hard those skills are. I think some people around us thought we were nuts! Haylee was having a rough time again so we decided o call it a day. The kids ran ahead to ride the manta one last time then we headed home.
On the way since Haylee was napping (yes again) we decided to hit up the mall for the Latso we have been hunting down. We found him!!! And picked up the new Tink movie!! And returned to our loved “Welcome Home!” greeting.

I am enjoying your TR so much - how precious that Haylee's brother and sister are so caring and attentive to her  What a special family you all are! I loved Mickey and Minnie's Halloween costumes!

Thanks for folowing along!!
My big kids are my saving grace!! I don't know how I would get things done with out them. They each have a very special and different type of relationship with Haylee and it is beautiful to watch!

That was so sweet. It made me cry. A time to remember for always. I am enjoying this trip report a lot and cannot wait for more.

Your trip is coming up so fast!! It's going to be so Wonderful!
