could someone please tell me how the wake-up calls work?

i am embarassed to say... i never figured it out. i was going to go to the front desk and ask, but i never had the time and was convinced i would get it to work the next time. :worried:

I have stopped by the front desk and requested a wake-up call... it works!

Or, you can push the "wake-up call" button on your phone and an automated system will ask you questions and walk you thru the system.

If you hate automated phone systems, just contact the front desk by phone or in person and they'll take care of you.

i used the automated wake-up button on the phone.

the phone rang at the correct time in the morning, but there was nothing on the line. i thought it was supposed to have mickey or stitch or something. after the first time i thought i just didnt wait long enough, but i got the same thing every time. it did wake us up, but i swear i read on here that it was supposed to say something.

That happened the very first time we used the wake up call. It rang at the correct time, but there was no message. We tried again the next day, and waited about 10 seconds(which seemed like a long time)and then the message come on, and has always worked since.

We use the wake up call button on the phone to set it up.

i must have bad luck than.

i waited a good 30 seconds the first time. the next few times i left the phone on speaker for up to 5 minutes--ridiculously long, but i was convinced i was doing something wrong.

we only used the wake up call when we did EMH, so about 4 times during the trip. i wanted to surprise the kids, so i didn't tell them. which was good because at least i was the only one disappointed/frustrated when the phone rang

That is strange. I don't think there is anything that you could do wrong. Sorry it didn't work, because I do think the kids would get a big kick out of it.

Doesn't it make you jump clear outta your skin when it rings! LOL I use the wake up button every day on our trips and it has always worked witht a character message. : ( last year it was Stitch... he was downright scary LOL

I just followed the prompts on the automated system and it works for me.

OT hey Freesone look at our tickers!!!! we'll be in WDW the same time : )

I thought I read some time ago on these boards, that if you request the wake-up call on the hour, quarter hour, half hour, etc. it might not always work because so many people have requested that time that they system bogs down and not everyone gets the message. So I requested an odd time, like 5:37 a.m. and we got the message every day. It did take a few seconds before it came on, but we always got it. Now I don't know if this is true or not :confused3 but it's worth a try.

if that's true, that may have been the case for us. 3 of the times i requested one for 6:30 on a days with am EMH at MK. the other was for AK EMH. maybe that's when everyone gets up to make it there for rope drop. i guess i'll know better for next time (probably not for a year or two, but after one trip we're all hooked :goodvibes )
