waitlisting up to 7 days out - am I OK in this scenario - and which resorts for best success

I have a 1br savanna view at Kidani for Thanksgiving weekend. I am now thinking a 2br would be better. The standard 2br is 10 points more, so no points into holding if the waitlist comes through. We have a Dec UY. I should be fine to waitlist this, right? I mean, at this point, if I cancel we are giving up our points anyway because they are 2018 points and I am obviously past my banking deadline.

2nd question is what should I waitlist? I have no preference as to standard/preferred or which resort, aside from Saratoga/Key west - we stay there way too often due to last minute trips. Everything is waitlisted at this point. Which resorts would be the easiest for success

Yes, you risk nothing to wait list a room with morel. At the 7 day mark, you will have to call to check.

But also keep checking the website. I have good luck this way. I would say Kidani Savannah would be your best bet for the wait list if you don’t want to do SSR or OKW.
