We are planning a trip the first week of December, and have a couple of nights booked at our home resort (Riviera). We would really like to have our last night at AKL, so that we can both revisit a beloved resort and so that we can spend our last night and morning relaxing and watching the savanna.

What is the best way to try to get that one night in our reservation? We currently have all of our nights booked at Riviera. If I were to waitlist for that one night when the booking window opens, will it amend my reservation appropriately or cancel everything but that one night? Am I better off reserving two trips, the second being only that last night, so that it won’t cancel anything?

Hope that makes sense and thanks in advance😀

You can’t wait list AKV until you are inside the 7-month window, unless you own there.

The best way to handle any split stay would be to make 2 concurrent reservations at your home resort - the first one ending on the day you want to make your switch and the second one beginning on that same day. When the 7-month window opens for booking a non-home resort, you can go online and modify the existing reservation that matches your dates for the new resort. If the dates are not available, you can wait list at that time and specify that the points are to be taken by canceling the reservation you wish to change over.

Awesome and thank you! Exactly the advice I was looking for😀

Yes, right now see if you can still get the last night and book it as it’s own. Then change what you have booked.
While you can put in a waitlist to just change one night, you want to call MS to do it so they put in the note to only cancel that one night.
