Does this sound correct to you? (My guide seemed really confused so I want to make sure.)

We definitely are interested in the 100-point add-on promotion currently being offered, IF we can get 2008 UY points. But, we have an April UY, so this would need to be Jambo points. He said there are currently not enough points in inventory and that there is a waitlist, but he can't see how long it is. Then he said for this waitlist we need to give him a credit card number for the deposit and if the points came through that would automatically be deducted and the contract mailed out to us, without going directly through him. Anyone else heard of this before? Is that how it typically works for the sold-out resorts, too?

Thanks!

Yes, I did just that and it only took a few days for them to cough up my use year.

I just bought Jambo House points. It took about 3 weeks to come up with my use year. Though my guide told me how many people were ahead of me on the waitlist.

Thank you all for the info!

Laneychris - Do you mind telling me how many people were ahead of you? Were you April UY? Thanks!

Is Jambo House different than what they are offering now with the promotion. I am confused. Are the units that are in the main lodge the Jambo House and the units that are not finished yet the Kidani? Thanks !!!

After May 2009, there is absolutely no difference between owning points in Jambo or Kidani. It would be similar to owning points in one building of SSR versus another. (I have no clue what building I own part of, there. ;) ) But right now, if we can get Jambo points, we would get 2008 UY points, since the building is completed. But, since Kidani is not open until May 2009, and that is in 2009 UY for an April UY, we wouldn't get any 2008 points.

My feeling is that the incentive is INTENDED to offer developer points at SSR because you don't get 2008 points, but the wording is such that you CAN get both 2008 points and the developer points if you get points in Jambo. But those are currently sold out - hence the wait list that we're on. Also, people who have later use years will get 2008 points, because May 2009 will fall in their 2008 UY.

I hope that explains it somewhat...

THANK YOU !!! I have a Sept.uy so I would get the developer pts. I just wanted to make sure that if we add on I can stay at either place - main lodge or the new location. Thanks again !!!

Just wanted to update that the 08 points we wanted came through quickly. We were put on the waitlist Monday evening and received papers by FedEx this morning. Others who are thinking of adding on for this incentive with early UYs may want to consider that option, too. Good luck!

I am on the waitlist for AUG UY. I hope they get to me. I believe the list lasts till SEP 20th when the current incentive ends.

Our guide tried to sell us the December use year, and I told him I wanted October, so he had to go check and then called me back about 10 minutes later to tell us they could do October use year. So, if anyone is considering purchasing and don't want December, you can tell them what use year you really want and they will check to see if it's available for Sep,Oct,or Nov, or you can go on a waitlist for other use years.

Yay!! We were so excited. I bet you are, too! I think it's very interesting that everyone's waitlist has come through so quickly. Granted, we're a small sample, but is it possible that Disney is moving some of their own point ownership from Jambo to Kidani or something to sell these extra points?

I went on the WL for June UY points on Thursday. When I checked my account today - SURPRISE! There is a new contract with 100 June 08 AKV points :cool1:

I am still not sure if the new points are KIDANI or JAMBO. Also they do not show in my DVC.COM account as available for banking. And as confussion goes, why can't I use them at other resorts BEFORE May '09, after all I am paying for them now

In your documents that just arrived, the back of the "Purchase Agreement" page tells what building you have purchased a share of. I'm not sure which numbers are which buildings, but someone on here may be able to help you out.

My points are Jambo, and on the website I have a full set of 2008 points available for banking or using.

Check your paperwork for your Unit number. If it is 56 or lower, it is in Jambo House otherwise it is in Kidani Village. Another way to tell is if you are unable to use your points before a certain date. The occupancy date of your Unit determines the earliest date that you can use your points. If your paperwork states that you cannot use your points before May '09 then you own part of a Unit in Kidani Village. All of the Jambo House Units are already completed and in use so their occupancy dates are all in the past (Jan 29, 2008 being the most recent) so Jambo points can be used immediately.

And as confussion goes, why can't I use them at other resorts BEFORE May '09, after all I am paying for them now
When you book a DVC stay on points, you do not have to stay in the Unit that you own. You will stay in someone else's Unit about 99.99% of the time. Meanwhile, someone else is staying in your Unit. So we're all trading our Units on every stay. But if your Unit is still being built, then you have nothing to trade and you are not allowed to use someone else's Unit until you do. Once your Unit is ready for occupancy (May 1, 2009 for those purchasing Kidani Units at the moment) then you are allowed to use those points to stay at AKV or elsewhere.

This is also why you do not pay dues on your first points until the later of: your purchase date, the start of your initial Use Year or the occupancy date of the Unit you purchased. They don't begin charging you dues until you can use the points.

My points are not able to be used until Kidani opens in May 2009. The only points I can use before then are the developer points. Technically, you are paying on your purchase before you can use them that is why they are also providing the developer points. You aren't paying any dues until Kidani opens.

You will not be able to bank them until all the paperwork is completed, returned to and processed by Disney. Your developer points will be able to be booked immediately.

Check your paperwork for your Unit number. If it is 56 or lower, it is in Jambo House otherwise it is in Kidani Village.

My unit is 46D but they are Kidani points :confused3

I'd be willing to bet your Unit is 64D, not 46D. ;)

:headache: Duh! You are correct. DVC just has too many numbers running around in my head! To try and keep them all straight is a job in itself :rotfl:
