Hello everyone! So I currently have a studio confirmed at VGF and now my mother has decided to join us - there are only 5 of us and yes we will fit into a studio however i really want the extra space.... I have 2 waitlists - one for an additional studio and then one for a 1BR. Im going end of October.... what are the chances I will get my waitlist cleared??? I know its like asking if I will win lotto LOL

Just curious if anyone had gotten waitlists cleared for VGF etc....

Need pixie dust!

:)

How long a stay? Still at VGF? 3-4 days or less you might have a chance. Longer - well winning the lottery is more likely.

6 nights... wow that bad huh.... my bad for not just booking a one bedroom from the start! :(

You might have a slightly better chance if you waitlist a standard view.

Another option would be rather than waitlisting a studio for 6 nights or a 1-bedroom for 6 nights, use your two waitlists to waitlist a 1-bedroom for nights 1-3, and then a 2nd waitlist for nights 4-6 in a 1-bedroom. If only one of them comes through - you'd have to switch rooms, but you would have the added space for 1/2 your stay. Plus I think the likelyhood of getting one or both of them would go up significantly.

Though you may want a second opinion on that. I've never actually successfully waitlisted anything, but I just think logically the shorter the waitlist time, the more likely it comes through.

This is going to sound mean but I'd tell your mom to book a room herself or not go :)

My family is really horrible when it comes to planning and deciding. We started out booking 2 bedrooms with the expectation of some joining us. Last Thanksgiving was the last straw for me. I had a 2 bedroom at BWV for half and then VGF. 5 months out our relatives bought tickets out to CA for Thanksgiving. Since then, I've booked studios or 1 bedrooms except on trips when said relatives have purchased airfare before I book the rooms. It's too much stress to try to accommodate people who don't understand. And also wasting points!

We have had many successful wait lists but we have never had a VGF wait list fill. I think it is mostly booked by owners who book early and don't change at 7 months.

I also waitlisted 5 nights, 1BR, standard view for the first week of December and it came through within a couple of days. I was both shocked and thrilled!!!!!

I'd book a studio at poly and wait list vgf. It's a short walk between and you would have the space you want. If the 1bed comes in have them cancel both studios

We had 12/24 and 12/25/14 waitlisted at GFV for a studio and it came through for us!! I was absolutely shocked and super excited all at the same time! You really just never know when Pixie Dust will fly in your direction!

I just had a waitlist filled for Thanksgiving weekend. I had the first 2 days reserved, and the last 2 days reserved and just needed the Friday. Being only one day it was a pretty good chance it was going to come through. So, the way the waitlist system works(according to the rep I spoke with at member services), it fills the best match first.

For example, if someone is waiting on Thursday October 22nd, and you are waiting on the 22nd plus 23rd...As soon as the 22nd becomes available they will get it first, unless both days become available at the same time...then it goes to the person first on the list. Since you are looking for 6 nights...a studio is impossible, but a 1-bedroom standard view is possible. The question is do you have the points available for this reservation or do you need the points from the current reservation? If you have the points, I would place 6 -1 night waitlists and hope for the best. Then I'd do a 7th one for the whole stay that would cancel out the studio if booked. If you don't have the extra points, then just do the whole stay with different accommodations and pray

You can't have 6 wait lists

You can only do 2 wait lists at a time

You can only do 2 wait lists at a time

I didn't know that...I never tried more than one, but if that's the case I would try and split the stay up and do 2 separate wait lists or do the individual days 2 at a time. Point was, its easier to grab 1 day at a time, then 6 together.

We had a wait list come through for a studio at VGF last October for 5 nights over Halloween. We already had a 1 bedroom booked at VGF when my brother and sister in law decided to join us. We had them booked at SSR and about a month before the trip the wait list came through much to our surprise!

I hope pixie dust comes our way. We're owners at VGF but resale took longer than expected...so we have 3 days WL in September and 3 days WL in January. Looking forward to getting on the 11 month time table! (but if no pixie dust, we'll have fun anyway!)
