We're waitlisted for a studio at BCV on a Sunday mid May. What is the consensus about the wait list process. Do you trust the system or have any of you gotten your waitlist request by calling too.
Right now our stay is split and we have no room for that night... thinking I will go ahead and book just a studio at OKW to at least guarantee a space
( we have a 1 bedroom for the rest of the week, part of which is borrowed points), I figure if the BCV waitlist doesn't come through, it will be easier to try to upgrade to a 1br at OKW, but at least will have a place for the night, and won't lose points if BC comes through

looking for feedback on waitlist process!:surfweb:

thanks all!

Don't bother calling until you are seven days out.

Be careful with your waitlist. If it requires fewer points than the current reservation, you could be stuck with points in holding if the waitlist comes through 30 days or less from the start of the trip. Or if the waitlist comes through past your banking deadline, you might be left with points you can't use before the end of the UY.

You may want to call to make sure that you are on the wait list. I've had wait list requests mysteriously disappear twice (prior to 30 day or 7 day cut off). I agree with calling when you are in the 7 day window since wait lists are no longer in effect and changes do occur.

I did call every day while I was waiting for the waitlist, but mostly to see if anything else had opened up, since I could only put 2 resorts on the waitlist.
I booked SSR two months ago (only available for full stay) for an 8 day trip for next week. I put OKW and BWV on the waitlist, thinking they were most likely to open up. But every day I wanted to check to see if some other resort had availability. My persistence did pay off...One day I called and BCV was open for the last 5 nights. I booked it then had OKW for the first 3 nights. But again, the waitlist would only come through if all 3 nights were available. One day I called and the third night was open, which left only 2 at OKW. I was still calling daily to try to chip away at those nights but they did come through via an email from MS. So in my case, calling did work in my favor, but not necessarily in the way you asked.
Good luck!

Right, that's why I was going to get a studio for the night at OKW, it's less points and I won't run into that issue, if the waitlist comes through, i can just borrow the few points to make up the difference.

I was wondering about this as I don't see it listed anywhere on my member page... do they show up there?

No wait list do not show up until the are filled, then they of course would be under reservations.
