I know there is no way to know if your waitlist is going to happen BUT my question is...How do they determine what’s available to waitlist? I’ve been stalking the reservation site to see if I can stumble up what I need and I notice what’s available for waitlist changes. Just curious 🧐

Everything at your home resort should be available to either book or waitlist at 11 months. Everything at non-home resorts is either available to book or waitlist at 7 months. There is no cap on the number of members who can waitlist a room on any given day inside of those windows.

I’m aware of how the waitlist works. My question is more along the lines of how the determine what’s available for the waitlist. You can’t just go waitlist anything the site give you specific waitlist availability that changes from day to day, resort to resort.

I'm not following what you're trying to explain to me. Maybe a screenshot would help. AFAIK, you CAN waitlist anything that is unavailable to book as long as it fits within the parameters I outlined in my PP.

@Sandisw maybe you can help with this one?

A room is either available to book or to waitlist. That's all. There isn't any sort of decision outside of that for waitlisting. If a room has availability is shows as available....if that room doesn't have availability it shows as waitlist only.

If you search for say July 1-5 and the room is available for only 1 of those days then it will show you one day of availability. Click the arrow next to the room type and it will expand. Select July 1-5 and then put in your waitlist.

A waitlist only comes through if someone else cancels. There is no "pool" of waitlisted rooms waiting to be released. Was that your question?

I think this is what they are asking.

.A waitlist is putting in a request for a room currently booked up. So, each day what rooms are available to waitlist is based on what changed from the day before in terms of others booking or canceling,

That is why you see changes, If you are within 7 months, you can waitlist for any room you want that is already booked. Between 7 and 11 months, you can waitlist for any room that is booked already at your home resort.
