Waitlist?

Just booked our first trip home for this May! We are staying at SSR but talked it over with DH and called back and put us on the waitlist for BLT and for BWV, for the ease of walking to a park. (Our kids are young and may nap in the stroller still) Any chance of this coming through? We are traveling over Memorial Day weekend and it is pretty short notice, but we want a 1 BR and we don't care about the views or points!

I have had a lot of success with the wait list, I actually think it has come through every time! Even if it doesn't you will still have your SSR as a backup so it doesn't hurt to try!

That is what we figured! I am excited either way and glad that we got in at all at such a late notice.

We have managed to get the waitlist whenever we have asked, hope you manage to get it.

I'm still on wait list for one day in March at AK but hopeful yet. You always have SSR as your back up. Good luck

What room type/view did you waitlist?

At BWV, preferred view (pool/garden) has the most # of rooms.

At BLT, lake view has the most. If you waitlisted any other view type, your chances are of getting it are less.

In addition to the WL, I would call periodically as well. Since you are limited to two wait lists, you can't wait list all of your possibilities so I would call to see if something comes through.

I did this a few years ago. We wanted to change from AKV to either BWV, BLT or BCV. I ended up putting in a WL for BLT, LV, and BWV, preferred. But I did end up calling to check on all the other BLT and BWV views as well as BCV. At one point, a SV room at BWV opened up and I was able to get it that way.

Those are the two rooms/views I waitlisted. I asked the CM what my best chances were at those resorts, and she told me those rooms. I hope one of them comes through, but if not we will be happy to stay at SSR!!

The 29th is the Sunday of Memorial weekend, so I guess it's popular for the people booking the long weekend as well as the people going for the whole next week. 2 years ago, I was on a waitlist for a savannah view studio at Kidani (I had standard view) for the Sunday of Memorial weekend and it never came through. 1 night waitlists usually have come through for me.

You know....it's Memorial Day weekend.....Lots of trips are ending and starting that weekend, so it looks like Sunday might be the overlap day. Good luck.
