Waitlist with less than 7 days

Wondered if anyone has been successful in having their wait list come through by calling day by day with less than 7 days to go? We've been WL'd for awhile for 1 night in a BWV Studio BV for 1 night next week (middle night of our 5 night stay as luck would have it) and wondered if it's worth still calling and trying.

Well, the waitlists end at 7 days out so calling or checking online are the only options to get a room. Anything can happen and if the night is in the middle of your stay I'd consider that reason enough to keep trying.

I think that if you are less than 7 days out your waitlist has already expired.

I would certainly still call and check 2 to 3 times a day, people cancel or switch things around all the time. Good luck!!

Yes sorry I wasn't clear about that. I know that the formal wait list expires at 7 days so I was more specifically wondering if we had a prayer in snagging the previously waitlisted night with less than 7 days to go or is it unheard of for cancellations/other rooms to open up that close?

Yes I was booked at SS in a studio, I called every day and was able to get a BW studio the weekend of the Marathon in January. It was only 3 nights but I was successful

Sometimes people have to cancel at the last minute. We were in that situation last year. We were already within the holding window (30 days or less from check-in) so we figured we might as well hang on until the day before check-in, in hopes that we would be able to go after all. We were fortunate that we did not have to cancel after all but for a while there, I was expecting to cancel at the very last minute.

Check a few times every day. It will be worth the hassle if you do get that middle night that you need. Good luck!
