Waitlist = Watched Pot!

As I patiently wait to see if my waitlist for VWL will go through for May, I am reminded of that old saying. "A watched pot will not boil" - and am convinced that if I don't check dvcmember.com every day the waitlist will eventually come through. I just can't make myself stay away, not that it makes a difference in what I will pack, or if I will go etc. Why am I so obsessed?

I THINK that your obsession has something to do with your interest in DVC.

I do not think that there are many people on a waitlist who do not check every day. I know that I did...and sure enough, every important waitlist I've been on has come through. I hope it works like that for you!

I checked every day maybe twice a day when we waitlist for VWL or BCV for our May trip. We got VWL(we weren't flying without a net, we were just looking to change from SSR), boy was I excited but I was the only one home(called DH on the cell phone and he was "why are you bothering me with this).

Funny because he is the planner for our trips. Kids wanted to leave him home for MLK because he drove us all nuts with "do you really want to go to MGM 2x this trip". Youngest hijacked the one day and insisted we go to AK, I think just to throw DH's planning off.

Well, you can't check the waitlist, just look at your ressies, or look at the total number of points. I know I have 111 points in my '08 UY...I'm looking for a Garden view room for a DCuz at VB...if the number of points change, I know I got something for her!

I'm waiting for a one bedroom to change to a two bedroom for April 8-11 at BCV.
A month ago, another friend decided she wanted to go on my girls' break.
We'll be cozy on that sleeper sofa if it doesn't come through!

I ask myself that same question.

I think it's natural for us to check everyday. I check at the end of each day. To be on a waitlist means it's something that you really want and hope. So of course you would want to know as soon as possible.

However, I do think there are different types of people in the world. I would check everyday, while my husband would laugh at me and say, why bother, check it once a week or just wait for the confirmation in the mail . Is he completely insane!!!

I'm with you!
I'm waitlisted for a 2 bedroom at HH for June 1-6. I don't really NEED it, I have a 1 bedroom which is what we usually stay in, but last time we were there we got upgraded to a 2 bedroom due to construction at the resort and we loved it!
I should have booked a 2 bedroom right away, but we didn't think about it until a couple of months ago.
Anyway, I look every single day. LOL

I am also booked at the BWV next October and I want to switch to BCV at the 7 month window--I have a feeling I'll be waitlisted for that as well.
