Hi

I am not sure if this idea has already been mooted but I wonder how many DVC members on wait lists never get their ideal booking because another member already has that booking and is on a waitlist for another resort which could potentially mean a simple swap of resorts.

For example I have two weeks at AKL booked in a studio check in 11th March 2013 check out 25th March but I am on a wait list for a standard studio at BWV for the same dates. Now it is possible that another member has the opposite booking and is on a waitlist for OKW. By communicating this it may be possible to swap.

Of course two weeks is harder to achieve but shorter breaks may be possible so I would suggest that those members that have reservations but on a wait list for another resort could post their info and in time a list would be compiled to allow members to see what may be a suitable swap.

What do you think

It's been mentioned before here. I think there are a number of problems with the approach. The numbers here are so small comparatively that the chances of finding 2 people who have what the others want is unlikely. I'm sure it's have to come under the rent/trade rules in place which would currently prevent listing far in advance plus many would require additional compensation if not matched exactly AND of similar demand options. The other answer is for DVC to move away from date/time placed as the defining factor for position on the list so they could match waitlists that are not at the top of the list.
