Waitlist Success!

We thought, back in mid-September, that using Pixie Dust to book into our home resort of Copper Creek for the week after Thanksgiving was going to be a long shot, and indeed, Pixie Dust netted us a Riviera studio........ but wait, what's this? We waitlisted Copper Creek just because we could, and lo and behold, it came in! There's a wonderful naivety about looking at a random trip confirmation email, and noticing that building they're showing looks awfully North Western (side note: why do you call it Pacific Northwest? Is there another part that doesn't have the Pacific Ocean lapping at its shore?) Cue huge excitement, and a tinge of regret that we'd booked our dining based on Gondola use - but I'm sure a cloud will ensure it won't be running anyway.
In short, very excited that our first stay as DVC members will be at our home resort.

Must be a lot of pixie dust going around, as we just confirmation of our waitlist for BWV Std Studio came through for the middle of December. Obviously people are still cancelling trips, and those of us who waitlist can benefit from it.

My waitlist for Copper Creek, Studio, January 4-8, came through a few weeks ago. Now I have the Riviera waitlisted for the same dates. I coubt I'll get it, unless some new owner has to cancel their first trip there.

I have honestly seen those dates show up a few times. I am finding the night of the 8th (checkout 9th) to be rather elusive though!!

Congrats! I have a five night stay in SSR GV for November 10-15, standard view. I want preferred view but the last night, November 14 is missing. I have a WL in and stalking with auto refresh at work, and honestly didnt think, even almost a month away, I would have this problem. Thinking people are trying to use up their points if they will loose them. Send your pixie dust my way please lol

I’ve never thought of that, but maybe it’s to distinguish it from the Pacific Southwest, which is a completely different terrain and climate. And so is the interior northwest, across the mountains from the coast.

In any case, congratulations on your waitlist coming through!

We cancelled our annual Xmas trip to Kauai back in early September and tried to get into Aulani as a back up (thinking if anything in Hawaii opens up first, it would likely be Oahu/Disney). It was slim pickings given how late we tried to get in, but I managed to piece together (by stalking the DVC website) 4 nights in a one bedroom, NY Eve in a studio, and back to a one bedroom for 3 more nights. I’ve been waitlisted to try to switch the NY Eve studio night to a one bedroom so we don’t have to switch rooms mid trip, but nothing has come through. I’ve seen studio pop up as available on the website every now and then, but no one bedrooms. Fingers crossed that waitlisted comes through, but I suppose if we have to switch rooms for one night it won’t be the end of the world.

I called MS on Thursday just to ask about the last day I was missingeven though I was stalking every ten seconds and was told my WL matched and was sitting waiting for it to be done. I waited for them to finalize and now all done!

Since I know you're all dying to be updated about our first DVC trip, let me share the news that a covid-19 exposure has resulted in our adventure being cancelled, and Mrs Wrench quarantining with all our dogs (they've clearly made their parental preference known) in the bedroom. She's tested negative this week, but with it being too close to the initial exposure we can't risk going to Disney on Sunday as the virus may not have reared its ugly head yet. Damn game.
