Waitlist success

Just got my second WL at BCV 2 bed in OCT 2018. I got my 1st WL a day after I put it in for my last night and yesterday 4/1/18 got my 2nd WL for the 1st night
 
Congrats. Sometimes the WL just works and then its great. Other times it doesn't and you need to stalk the RAT. As you don't know when it works and when it doesn't I always stalk the RAT and that have proven useful.
 

Yesterday I was very lucky to get a Poly Studio for 1 night for a 1 night stay after a cruise. (The only non stop after the cruise was at 6 PM, and we did not want to wait in the airport all day. ) I feel happy that I got something other than SSR which is where I usually end up for last minute stays. Then I noticed that a VGF studio is also 24 points for the night, and I figured, what the heck, why don’t I waitlist that and see what happens. Either way I am happy, but now I have a reason to check my dashboard every day, just to see if my waitlist disappeared!:)

It hasn’t!
 
One Day after 7 month window opened, My entire Jersey Week (November 4-11) waitlist for a studio at Copper Creek came through... Awesome!

I'd like to have that happen with my CCV 2 BR during that week - Got 3 nights but need 2 more. I had them at the 7 month window then the online booking went wonky telling me the time was too early when it flipped to the screen after selecting points (really - it had allowed me to select and hold the room initially!). About 5-7 minutes after the window opened it finally allowed me to finish booking but the full 5 nights was gone so I'm starting with 3 instead.

However, in the meantime I've picked up other rooms all via the waitlist to cover the party so it's just a matter of where we'll stay, not if. In fact I need to call in to confirm another that filled last night or this morning that finishes the rooms off. Then it's just waiting to see if we replace with CCV.
 
Looks like I need to call MS. This is the first time I've ever used a waitlist. But it has disappeared from the dashboard just as others have described so I'm guessing they just need to do their part.

Yep! You actually can wait and they'll get to it. I've been calling in because I've needed to set up another waitlist so needed them to finalize it. It also allows me to direct them on what points I prefer to use as I have more than 1 contract.

So I actually had 2 different waitlists setup for that day, just hoping either one would come through. Do you think I'm OK to go ahead and cancel the other one? Or should I wait until 1st one is completed and showing the correct resort in my vacations?

I'd either call in and get it confirmed or wait until they confirm it before cancelling the other. If you wait for them to confirm it they will probably cancel the other one as that is typically how it's handled. Overly cautious almost certainly but it's what I'd do.

The WL has been great for us so far! We just got back from a last minute weekend trip in a VGC studio booked using two single day WLs, and we also had two missing nights of our BWV stay in a 1BR fill for July so we don't have to move anymore (also using two single day WLs).

I’ve had the same thing happen. I thought I had it and then system said I was too early. I’ve also had the system tell me I can book things when I’ve known I’ve been too early (and of course it doesn’t then work). Was very frustrating as the night I wanted isn’t one I have a spare waitlist to try to get back.
 
Head's up on a WL . When my BCV 2 bed 1st WL came through they did switch it with my BWV 2 bed like I noted on the site.
Problem was with the 2nd wait list at BCV 2 bed. When that came through they switched it with my SSR 2 bed and were not supposed to. I did not want to swap the ressies. Lucky that SSR still had 2 bed available that day.

So even if you don't want a WL to replace another ressie it can and will happen. You need to tell them direct by calling not to replace anything.

Yes, they do not always seem to check the details well. It's part of why I tend to call in when I see it has matched. Glad you were able to get back the other room!
