Waitlist SS Jan 6th what are the chances?

Hi,

My friend is trying to get into SS the first week of Jan in a studio. Jan 6th is sold out. What do you think the chances are of it becoming available from the waitlist?

If it's only the one night you need, I think it will come through. However, book something else just in case.

That might be a tough night to get, even though it's only one night you're wait listed for.

That's the Friday before the Marathon Weekend, with the 1/2 Marathon on Saturday.

I believe the marathon is a very popular time among DVCers.

I called to see if they had a 2 bedroom for that day and the CS said they are completely sold out. SSR has no rooms at all weather its a studio, one bedroom or two bedroom they have no rooms. No telling how many people are waitlisted for that day. there is availabilty at the Dolphin for $199 for that day.

Have you checked Old Key West for your stay?
Usually either Saratoga or Old Key West is available!

For a single night, definitely go on the waitlist.

We had to waitlist for SSR the weekend of the F&W Half Marathon and MK's 40th anniversary. We even called CRO and they told us some rooms were being held for marathon participants. I believe it was around the 90 day mark that our waitlist came through. I suspect that's when Disney decided to release any non-reserved rooms that were held for the marathon participants.

Hopefully this far out the waitlist will come thru but this past January when I was trying to get that one night from approx 4 weeks out until that day I wasn't successful. The 3 days before that, no problem but not the marathon Friday.

I waitlisted BLT for four nights in a one bedroom from Sept to the end of Dec for marathon last year. Never came through.

My waitlist for Thanksgiving just came through!! Been on the list since April and I finally got the email. I just waitlisted for one aditional night amd am optomistic Good luck!

Have checked 3 times in last couple of days - not much left. Nothing easy - you would have to change resorts. Don't think wait list will happen.
