Waitlist/Room Category question

For the past 3 days I have tried to obtain a reservation at Aulani and the system glitches and crashes and then everything is a waitlist. I put in a waitlist for a 2 bed lock off with Aulani since it has an inventory has more rooms than the dedicated. We would rather the dedicated. Should I change my waitlist to a dedicated 2 bedroom since I am probably going to have to piece this thing together or stick with the higher inventory?

Also, If I have 5 nights on my waitlist and 2 nights becomes available does it grab the 2 nights, or does it only reserve the 5 nights? And if it only confirms 2 nights do I have to do another waitlist for the remaining 3?

You are allowed two waitlists and the shorter they are, the better chance you have to get them filled because, as mentioned, they are all or nothing. If it were me, I would probably go for the category that has a better chance to be filled, and break it up into two shorter stays.

The only drawback to that is that if one part fills and the other does not, what will you do. Just be sure that you do not borrow any points if you will not be going unless you get all the nights because that will be a final transaction and the points stuck.

thank you Sandy! I would have to borrow if the second waitlist comes through. Should I wait until the first waitlist is confirmed? If the second waitlist comes through before the 1st, I suppose I am stuck with the borrowed? Worth the risk?

The waitlists don't go in an order in terms of borrowing. If you have two waitlists, and one comes through, it will only borrow if you do not have enough points to cover it. If you need to borrow in order to have all 5 nights come through, but have enough for at least the 3 night waitlist, then put it in that way..2 night and 3 night... authorize borrowing for both (so it doesn't matter which one fills first), take a screen shot of that , and then keep checking.

This way, they will only be borrowing if you get both wait lists to fill. If they both don't, and you will cancel out, then you will be fine!
