Waitlist questions

I am finally in the system and tried to book a week before Christmas. I got the 16th-19th and am waitlisted for the previous 14 and 15. Would I have better luck if I added Sat the 13? For me to get this, does someone have to cancel just the 14 and 15th? Should I have the waitlist for the whole time supposing that many people book Sunday to Friday?
Any advice is appreciated.

Shorter length waitlists are more likely to come through than longer ones.

My advice is to leave the waitlists just as they are and hope for the best (unless you really do want to stay Saturday, 12/13.
