Waitlist question

I am currently on the automatic waitlist for the BCV. In the past I have not faired very well when on the waitlist. I am cuurently booked in a studio at VWL for 6/23 to 7/1. I am on the wait list for a studio at the BCV for the same time period. How many of you call MS to check availibilty of the room you want has opened up, even though it is supposed to be automatic?

I wouldn't call everyday, but I would probably check once a week. I know that the waitlist does work for some, but I have read too many reports of people calling and getting something when they called to "recheck". Good luck. If it doesn't work out, you'll be staying at my "favorite" DVC so it won't be that awful!

I usually do not call to check on the waitlist. Things HAVE come through for me, for instance a SV 2 bedroom opened up for me in August last year, when I booked, only 4 months out, there was none available.

However, this week I did check to see if I was still on a waitlist, and I was. I just am having a hard time realizing that the SV studio in October just may not come through for us!!

PS. There was a thread before Christmas about waitlists coming through or not, and there did seem to be a large number of people who called to check, and sure enough it did come through.

Thanks, VWL is my favorite as well. But I promised my kids that I would try the BCV on our next trip. Last time we stayed at the BCV my DD got sick and couldn't use the pool. Since then ever time we go to WDW. She asks dad when our we going back to BCV. I was hoping to surprise her and let her think we were going to VWl and then just pull up to the BCV.

I now check online to see if my waitlist has come through. We booked VWL for a 5 night trip in June, but waitlisted for a BW view studio. I decided to "view my reservations" on the DVC site the other night & SURPRISE!! our waitlist came through.

With the exception of 1 time, we've always gotten what we've wanted when we've waitlisted.

I have been trying to check all day online, but it says that they are not able to pull up my info, because they arew doing some kind of Maintenance.

I would defintely call and check. Was on a BCV waitlist for 3 of my 7 nights. Since I am new to DVC and we MUST go that week, I was going to move the reservations to BWV where I know there was availability. When I called, she said that 2 of the 3 nights had come through! I asked what the procedure was and she said they usually automatically go through but some (including mine) require a call to confirm. She indicated it had been sitting there and they were going to be calling me. BIG volume with the holiday booking window
approaching. So, she confirmed it and the 2 nights are taken care of. She told me to call once a week for the final night as it should go through.
