Waitlist question

If I have 1 night that I want booked, should I waitlist another night only or waitlist both nights? I just got a message that said if I want multinight visit not to waitlist 1 night as I would have to move? Is this true if same category?

Only the night you need.

As long as the single night waitlist is for a room size/view that is the same as the one you already have, you can easily avoid having to change rooms after getting the reservation by simply having MS merge or link the reservations. Whoever told you that you would have to change rooms is incorrect or possibly still living in the reservation system that existed in years past when such a risk actually did exist.

If you book the same location, same size villa, same booking category, MS will link the two reservations into one. For this upcoming Dec, I had one night booked and waitlisted the night before and the night after. As they came in MS linked them into one three night reservation.
