Waitlist Question

I know another one. I have noticed many people say that they check their waitlist request daily on-line. I made my first waitlist request today. Does your request show up on DVCmember.com? I looked and my reservations show up, but I didn't see anything about my waitlist. I was just wondering where I could check it occasionally, or perhaps you would only find out if it comes through? Do they send an e-mail if it were to come through? Thanks for your expertise!

The waitlist itself does not show up online but if you click on "Vacation Details" you will see your current reservations and thus be able to tell whether the waitlist reservation is now listed as booked or not. As of now you will receive no e-mail when the waitlist comes through. You should receive a confirmation letter if it comes through, but I know that does not always happen. Bottom line: checking online will tell you if your waitlist has been filled but it will not verify that your waitlist is still active if it has not yet been filled. An occasional call to MS to make sure your waitlist is still active is probably a good idea.

Thanks for your quick response! I do this anyway, I like to see my reservation, a little odd I know. But it gets me excited for my upcoming trip! So I guess if it were to come through I would know. Thanks!

Our home resorts are ss and bw when im booking our dec trip i wait until the 7 month window for okw. We usually go down first 2 weeks in sept not busy. But sometimes okw is full. So i will book akl or ss and be put on wait list for okw. So far we have always gotten in for our 2 bedroom at okw. They would send us a confirmation in the vmail but i would call them every so often specially when it gets closer. We had a bit of a panic last dec.
In oct when i called there wasnt any room yet so i just told them to leave us at ss. We had another couple who were going to meet us at ss but they were leaving 2 weeks earlier than us and drive there. The day after they left here for florida a confirmation came saying we were change to okw 2 bedroom. That was great but i had noway of telling the other couple and they have never stayed at dvc before. Besides i cacelled the the waitlist in oct. I called dvc and told them the situation. When the couple arrived at the gate at ss, the guard told them the ressie was changed to okw and told them how to get there. So it worked out but its a good idea to keep checking.
