I was able to book a few nights at OKW for mid December. I have been waitlisted for the rest of the week about a month. I notice the nights I was able to book are "near HH". I did not request this and don't really care. If my ressie was not specific, would it be more likely to get the rest of the nights?

If you want to stay in the same room for your entire stay (which I would assume you do) then yes, you'd have a better chance if your room was not "near HH" as there would be a larger pool of rooms to draw from. The problem is that you probably can't swith your current OKW reservation at this point because there will probably be no availability for those nights.

I'm guessing that if you simply waitlisted for OKW then you will get whatever opens up ("near HH" or not "near HH"), if anything does. If you get something that is not in the "near HH" category that would mean you have to switch rooms mid-stay. If you get the "near HH" category then you'd be all set to stay in the same room.

That said, December is high-occupancy time at the DVC resorts. The odds are good that you won't get your waitlist met at all, in which case you may want to have a back-up plan (cash nights at OKW (if available), a cash reservation at a non-DVC resort, a few nights off property, etc.).

Good luck!

It with a near HH request it would definitely be more likely, but if you have near HH for the first nights and a regular rooms the other nights you would have to move midway through (unless they can do something for you at check in, depending on availability).
