GOAL: 2 nights VGF, 1 night AKV value

BACKUP: 3 nights BCV

Strategy

1) Book BCV for 3 nights as the backup

2) Book AKV value (my home resort) for one night, in case the VGF waitlist fills

3) Waitlist VGF for the other 2 nights

My question is if the VGF waitlist fills, will they automatically cancel the 3 nights at BCV or will it not work because the BCV ressie is 3 nights and the VGF waitlist is 2 nights? The problem is I won’t have enough points to fill the VGF waitlist unless they cancel the BCV ressie.

Thanks for your help, this forum is a fantastic resource!

When you set up the waitlist for VGF, you can specify that the BCV reservation be cancelled if the waitlist fills.

My advice is to call MS after you set up the waitlist, explain what you want and ask the CM to add any notes to your waitlist that will make it clear that you want the entire BCV 3 inght reservation cancelled if the VGF waitlist fills.

Good luck - hope you are successful in booking your goal. :)

Got it, that makes things easier. One more unrelated question—is it possible to waitlist more than one room type at a time? I.e. can I waitlist both a Standard View and Lake View and take whichever one comes first?

You can have up to 2 WLs per membership at a time active. They can be different size rooms (IE: studio & 1-bdrm), different room types (IE value & standard), or different resorts.
