Waitlist question and input please!

Hi,

So I just made 2 waitlist requests for the marathon-half marathon weekend in January. My sister and I weren't sure if we were doing it or not and didn't make a reservation earlier. I was just wondering what people's experience is with the wait list, should I hold out hope or find an alternate?? Its for 1/6-1/9. We're just looking for a studio or 1 bedroom anywhere, but have wait-listed at SSR and OKW because the cast member said they have the largest inventory. Should I still call during the week and check others, should i back off and see what happens? Sorry this is just my fault for the last rush and our indecisive-ness. Thanks for any input its really appreciated!!!

Also, keep calling, especially around the 30/31 day mark for those dates (around the time people may cancel...)

If you are flying in, I would have a hotel reserved somewhere. Aren't there places that will let you cancel 24 hours ahead? That way you will have a place to stay in case your wait list doesn't come through.

It doesn't hurt to call daily. A CM once advised me to call a couple of times a day. I followed that advice and, so far, have been fortunate to have our wait-list come through.

The other option is to call daily and book day by day. You can then change your waitlist.

For example, if you call and find that January 6th is now available, book it and change your waitlist from the January 7th - 9th.

Sometimes you can piece together your reservation by doing things this way. Wait lists will only fill if all the nights you requested become available.
