Waitlist Odds/Questions for BW or BC in March, 2024?

Hi Disfriends!

I have a WDW trip booked that includes DH, and our two DSs and myself. Our home resort is GF, but we are booked at OKW March 10-15, 2024 in a 2 bedroom villa. We would be absolutely fine staying here, but we would really like to be at either BW or BC in a 2 bedroom villa. The access to both Epcot and HS is awesome, and that's where we will spend most of our time this trip.

I know that no one has a crystal ball, but I'm wondering which option(s) might be better for us in terms of waitlisting? So, I have a few questions:

1. Can I be waitlisted at more than one resort at the same time? In other words, when I call MS can they put me on a waitlist for both BC and BW or do I need to choose only one of these resorts?
2. Is there a 2 bedroom category that is more likely to open up? I would prefer a dedicated 2 bedroom but I know there is only one option for that at BC. Is it more likely that a 2 bedroom lock off might open up? If that's the case, then I'd definitely opt to waitlist a lock off over a dedicated 2 bedroom. I just wasn't sure what the algorithms were for lockoffs vs dedicated.

3. Realistically, what are the chances of getting a waitlist for March 10-15? Again, I know that no one has a crystal ball, and I know this is large chunk of days, but I'm genuinely curious.

We'll have a great trip, regardless of where we stay. Thanks for any info!

I think your chances are next to zero. I booked those dates right at the 7 month mark and neither BWV or BCV was a choice in a 2 bedroom when I booked.

Your best chance is a 2 bedroom garden view at BWV.

And that's hard, because every 2BR at BWV is a lock off, so both the studio and 1BR have to work to fill.

I'm with the other poster, chances are essentially zero. That's a good chunk of time. Best case scenario would be maybe finding a night, but not 5 nights. It's the start of spring break season. Boardwalk is currently under renovations that are running behind. So right now people booked at boardwalk are being relocated to other hotels.

I agree with PPs that chances are poor. But my attitude with waitlisting is, what have you got to lose? You can set up the WL yourself online and specify you want it to replace your current OKW reservation. I’d WL the BWV 2BR P/G view and the BCV 2BR Dedicated. If the BWV/BCV reservations would cost more points than the OKW, you can set the WL to expire at 7 days before checkin, but if they’d cost less (I doubt that!) then set expiration at 31 days or else the extra points will go into holding.

You never know - you might get lucky!
:tinker: :tinker: :tinker:

And you'll be joining the WL late in the same - there have been people waitlisted since October.

Not saying don't WL, just don't hope for much.

Everyone, thank you so much for your input! I recognize the waitlists are a complete long shot! I just had myself put on waitlists for both a BC dedicated 2 bedroom and BW 2 bedroom P/G view. I recognize that lots of folks have been on the waitlists longer than me and it's a big chunk of time, but since my OKW ressie is less points than either of the waitlist options, I figured I don't have much to lose.

Thank so much for your help!

This may be the one time that Beach Club has a better shot of coming through than the Boardwalk. Boardwalk is behind on getting the villas completed and there are already reports of them moving guests from Boardwalk Villas to the Inn side or to other hotels in March. If there is anywhere else you prefer to be over OKW I would cancel the BWV waitlist and add that one. Good luck!
