Waitlist less than 30 days

i just want to make sure I understand this properly! If I waitlist something and have a backup reservation and it comes through less than 30 days out, the reservation that I am cancelling will just go to the points for the waitlist right? I don't have to worry about them going into a holding account? Just wanted to clarify before I set up the waitlist.

As long as the waitlisted reservation is the same amount or higher points than what you currently have reserved, those points will go to the reservation. If you are waitlisted for say a standard view or value (AKV) and it's fewer points than your backup, then those leftover points would go into holding.

In theory, you are correct. Just watch your points because it doesn't always work out correctly. I have had this exact scenario happen and instead of using the same points for the new reservation, member services used totally different ones and threw the original points into holding.

It took a few calls and speaking to a supervisor to get the points fixed and out of holding.

Just check your points if your waitlist does come thru!
