Waitlist Help!

Hello all,

I'm renting points for a stay at AKL 10/29 - 11/1. Due to lack of availability I ended up with the 29th reserved in a 1 bedroom at Kidani, the 30th in a studio at Jambo and the 31st in a studio at Kidani.

There are enough points for 3 nights in savanna studio or 4 in a standard studio. Which scenario, the 3 or the 4 nights should I waitlist for better odds??

What would happen at check-in if I were to leave that reservation as is??

How nice that the point owner will waitlist for you! The best option to try and get into a single room would to ask for the nights of the 29th and 30th to be waitlisted for the same room type as you have reserved for the 31st at Kidani. The longer the waitlist the less chance of getting it.

If the reservations stay as you have them you will be moving every night. That is the way DVC works - there aren't free upgrades to keep you in the same room. You will be able to have Bell services hold your luggage each day after you check out and before you get into your new room and they will transfer between Jambo and Kidani.

Shorter waitlists are more likely to get filled. For that reason, I would choose to waitlist 2 nights at whichever view is the same as the night of the 31st.

If you leave the reservation "as is", you will get exactly what you reserved when you check in.

Thank you for the feedback! The owner we're renting from has been very accommodating, truly grateful for that. He found the studio we needed for the first night and gave us credit for the difference. We almost have what we want, only one night waitlisted. I'm hoping it'll come through to avoid the changes but then again I wouldn't mind it so much, would get to experience both Jambo and Kidani.
