Waitlist--from a split stay to a single room

We currently have a split stay booked for Aulani. I was going to waitlist what we want for a single room stay, but have a question. On the online form, when it asks if you want to replace a current reservation, there is only an option to replace ONE current reservation. If I call MS instead of doing it online, can they set up the waitlist request to replace both currently booked stays?

if you waitlist the exact room type that if successful would then result in a contiguous stay with the same room type at the end, then one of two paths can happen:

1) You call MS and they then combine them into a single number long reservation. Most popular.
2) The system combines them for you. Uncommon, but reported.

But... I'd advise not making a waitlist that has dates you already have confirmed on another reservation. It is harder to get that filled than individual days.

So to answer your question, I think, answer "no" to replace and only choose the single or few dates you need. This assumes you're aiming for the same room type across the board. If your situation is more complicated, a good MS rep can be helpful.

Thanks--that clarifies a bit, but my situation is more complicated, in that the room type we're hoping for is not the same as either of the room types we currently have booked. Specifically, at we have 1 night in a Garden Islands view studio, followed by 5 nights in a Garden Islands view 1 BDRM. What we are hoping for is 6 nights in a Standard view 1 BDRM (unlikely, probably). So, based on your reply, I believe my best option to call MS to get their help with setting up the waitlist.

I think so yes, they can help best.

But for sake of discussion, since you can have 2 waitlists active, you might want to have one be, a) the standard 1bdrm for 6 nights (harder to get bc all 6 need to come through), and b) the 1 night of garden islands 1brdm (higher chance of getting).

In both of those cases, yes you would want to cancel the prior reservations (unless you have the points to spare and can then do the canceling yourself).

I’m not sure this will be of use but Md just did something automatically for me with the waitlist.

First time using the wl and I really didn’t do it right lol.

I had one stay from the 22-26 at bay lake booked in feb.

I want to change it all to GF.

On my own I found the 22nd and the 25th and booked those.

For some reason I waitlisted the 24th but not the 23rd???

And the other day the 24th was found for me.

They cancelled the 22nd at bay lake and the 24th and 25th. They created a one night reservation at bay lake on the 23rd.

So now I have GF, BL, then two nights (one reservation number) GF.

Which I thought was impressive. I’d done it all weird but they got what I was going for.

Now I have the 23rd waitlisted. High hopes for that. I’m fine moving around, but my cousin might not be. Especially since this is for Princess.
