Waitlist for trip within 30 days?

We just booked a last minute trip for the 20-27th of August and the only resort open was SSR. Is it even worth it to waitlist something else in this short of a time frame?

If the other room would require less points then the current reservation, those extra points would go into holding if the wait list comes through. Points in holding can only be used for a new reservation with a check-in date of 60 days or less from the date the reservation is made.

I would if what you want is more points--it certainly won't hurt you do to this.

But, as mentioned, you don't want to do it for any option that is less points since that will give you holding points.

I'd be willing to do a WL if I was spending more points on the waitlisted villa. I wouldn't if the points were lower. Good luck! Sometimes people have to cancel late.

We are in the same boat. Just booked a last minute trip Aug 19-24th and the only thing available is SSR. I am going to waitlist and also keep checking.

Keep the faith, I had a wait list come through in the seven day window Christmas week.
