Waitlist for hotel room?

We are finishing up a DVC trip to SSR with a night at AKL. We are using points for the room. When I called they only had pool and savannah rooms available. I wanted a concierge room or a deluxe. So we took the savannah room.

Is it possible to waitlist a concierge or deluxe? Do they allow that for hotel reservations? I reserved via member services and not Disney reservations.

I believe waitlisting is only for DVC resorts.

Remember, even though you reserved through MS, you're trading out of the DVC system when you stay at AKL.

Since the Conceirge/Deluxe rooms at teh AKL cost more points than the room you booked, you could call MS every so often and see if one of the COnceirge or Deluze rooms has come available. AFAIK, there just has to be availability to use your points at the non-DVC WDW resorts. Since CRO/WDWTC doesn't keep waitlists, it's possible that you could get lucky.

Obviously, you'd just have to add a few more points to book the more expensive rooms if you were lucky enough to get one.
