Waitlist for BCV not coming through

It's getting closer to the time we go to WDW and my waitlist does not seem to be coming through. Now don't get me wrong we're are staying at the beautiful SSR, but heart was set for BCV or BWV. We had a reservation in January but had to cancel due to a death in the family. Had to reschedule before July and have been on the waitlist. They tell me after my 7days I should call everyday before I arrive. Now how does that work ? Wouldn't a cancellation automatically go into someones waitlist? It's kind of a weird feeling could someone be doing that to me now even though I've been hanging sence January, and I had a real good reason to have to cancel to begin with? I'm sorry am I ranting. I know I'll love SSR. Just being spoiled right now.

The wait list expires once you get inside 7 days so there is no wait list for a cancellation to automatically go to.

It does work to call though. Last October for Columbus Day weekend we were able to switch to the BCV one day before our arrival. After the wait list runs it's course, it's a good idea to keep checking.

We're on a waitlist for a 2 bedroom at SSR for April 1-6. We have a 1 bedroom booked but the larger room would make it so much easier. I haven't heard anything either. I don't like the fact that you have no idea how many people are ahead of you in the waitlist. It's our first experience with the waitlist and and I'm not too thrilled. Every time the phone rings I hope it's DVC calling with the news that we have cleared the list.

At least we'll still be going!

We are on the waitlist for the first time for the end of June for BCV/BWV/
or VWL. I love OKW just thought it would be nice to try something different this time. We have never stayed st BWV or VWL. I hope it comes through for you.

Fewer members will cancel a reservation at 30 days out than at 31 days out because they will lose the full use of their points (they go into holding). So after you hit 30 days, you are counting on a member who has to cancel because of an emergency rather than someone who is just changing their mind.
