Waitlist for a Newbie

If they took our points out of our account, and we were waitlisted, does that mean the waitlist came through?

The take the points from your account when you make a reservation. If you also have a wait list, you will know whether or not it is filled when you check your vacation details on the member website.

Look to see what that says. If the new resort request was filled, it will show there.

If it still shows you have a reservation at the original resort you booked, then your wait list has not been filled.

I am confused about waitlisting. I have a Dec10 reservation at BWV, PV-garden. We used almost all our points for that UY. I would like to waitlist a boardwalk view. Do you have to have the points available for the waitlist reservation? In other words, I do not have enough points to cover my current reservation and a waitlist reservation. However, if the waitlist reservation came through, I would cancel my current reservation and then have enough points to accept the waitlist reservation. Can you do that or do you have to have the points to cover both? TIA

If you let member services know what you want to do this is possible, we are currently at SSR and wait listed for BLT if this becomes available MS will then just change my reservation over to BLT and the original booking is cancelled.

When you wait list, you simply tell MS what you want. When there is a match, then MS cancels the first reservation and replaces it with your new one.

So, you don't have to have points for both reservations, only one of them. However, if you won't have enough current points to cover the new reservation without borrowing, you need to tell MS that you are okay with that.

For example, if the room you have booked currently is 180 points, and the BW view room is 200 points, you would need to have 20 points still available to book that without borrowing.
