We are waitlisted for a studio on Nov 5th at BCV. How long should I wait until I give up on the waitlist and book a studio at another resort? :confused3 We really want the BCV as the rest of our trip is there but I don't know at what point I should worry about getting a studio at another resort.

Do you have a reservation for some alternative now? If not, I'd absolutely call and see what they have and take it. This close, you may have to pay OOP.

I wouldn't put all my eggs in the waitlist basket.

So, I should make a ressie now or there might not be a room? I was hoping that I could wait until the last minute and there would still be a studio somewhere on property. What do I do with that reservation if my waitlist comes through?

yes. as soon as possible.

many members book at their home resort at 11 months out to make sure they have a place to stay. then at 7 months out, they try for a different resort.

(it is true that you have to be careful of leftover pts in case you have borrowed pts or are past your banking window or something...)

in the simplest case: if i have a reservation at SSR for 70 pts and waitlist at BCV for a reservation that requires 70 pts...then if the waitlist comes through, the SSR reservation will be canceled automatically in order to book the waitlisted stay at BCV.

edited to add: BTW, if you have to waitlist for both SSR and BCV at this point and the SSR reservation comes through first, then the BCV waitlist would be canceled and you'd have to call and get back on the BCV waitlist at the end of the line...

i agree with the pps. you need to book something now. if you wait too long you might end up with nothing. we were on a waitlist for a studio at blt and it never came through but at least we had something already booked at ssr

Yes, definately don't delay. Get yourself a room at an alternative resort and waitlist at your desired location. I have done this many times as the resorts I try for are usually booked when I want to go. Depending on your luck, your waitlist might come through and Member Services will arrange everything as far as cancelling your backup option. If your waitlist doesn't come though at least you have a room somewhere at WDW.

Always make a reservation at your home resort or somewhere you can make a reservation and then waitlist the one you really want.

30 days out, you will be dropped off the waitlist unless you extend it to 7 days out. Then you need to call every day to see if it if available.

Well, I called today and there is not a single studio available on all of property.:sad1: I added a second waitlist and have them set to 7 days out.

I hope you waitlisted OKW or SSR. You'll have the best chance of getting those.
