Did a search in this forum, but couldn't find specific answers to my questions...hope you can help. I've booked a 2BR at BCV for the end of January. It was a couple of months off the 11-month window and there was no trouble with availability (I suppose due to the time of year). We'd like to change that reservation to BWV preferred. Could I have asked to be on a BWV waitlist when I made my original reservation even though the 7-month window doesn't begin until the end of June? If not, when I do call at 7-months, if thers isn't availibility for the full week should I take a chance with a partial ressie or begin on the first available booking day with a day-by-day ressie? If you book day-by-day do they cancel the corresponding days of the reservation you currently have? And if that's so, then you could get stuck moving from resort to resort if the waitlist doesn't come through? If I don't want to move, should I just keep checking back to see if the entire week comes available? Thanks.

No, not if you plan to use BCV points to pay for the BWV reservation. You can't go on a waitlist before the 7 month window opens unless you have home resort booking priviledges for the resort in question.

Up to you. If any days are not available, you can go on the waitlist for them individually. That has the best chance of working out for you, but you do risk having to move back and forth if you do not have enough points to hold the BCV reservation until the BWV one is complete.

Not unless you tell them to do that.

Yes, that would be correct.

If you are unwilling to risk a move, then call for the reservation 7 months from the final check out date. If it's not available, ask to waitlist for the whole time to become available at once. You can ask them to call you if it comes through, or you can use the auto feature. The auto feature means if it comes through, they just book it and mail you a confirmation. Since it sounds like you'd have to cancel the BCV reservation to make the BWV one, my advice is to have them call you first.

Best wishes -
