Waitlist comes through but 2 different ressie number?

We are staying 2 nts at AKV. We had 1 nite and were waitlisted for the other. The nite came through. When I look at the member site the reservation # is different...this sorta of works for us since we were leaving early in the am on last day and didn't need the DDP but do want it for the first day. So my question will I be able to get the meal plan for the 1st nite and not the 2nd since it's 2 different reservation numbers?

Even though there are 2 reservation numbers, they are most likely linked. So, in effect, it's treated as 1 reservation. If they weren't linked you would have to check out by 11 on the first day. Is that what you want? Call MS or send an e-mail to them to verify.

I am in the same situation, with 1 night at VWL followed by 2 nights at BCV. My waitlist for BCV came through. On mydvc.com, I can still see two reservations. But MS called me to ask my DDP choice since I had deluxe plan on the first day. I had to select the same plan for all 3 nights.

Yes, as stated above, unless you want to risk moving rooms at BCV, they are linked to avoid that and considered one stay. DDP must be purchased for length of stay for all occupants of the room.

Just so I'm clear on this, they would be two separate reservations if they would have gone from VWL to BCV (which require separate check-ins and check-outs) -- then it would be a split-stay, correct? In that case they could make different dining plan choices for each resort stay... is that right? Or would those also be linked as one reservation?

I would love to do the deluxe plan for a few days and then change resorts and drop the plan after getting burnt out on all that food. Is that possible?

I too am wondering about this I thought if you were staying at 2 different resorts that would be 2 different reservations and you could do the DDP for one reservation and not the other or deluxe DDP for one and regular DDP for the other. If you have 2 reservations and they make you do DDP for both that will cause me to rethink part of our trip in Dec. We are splitting our stay half in a 1 bedroom and half in a studio so definitely 2 different reservations and 2 reservation numbers and I thought we would be able to have the DDP for just one not both. Am I thinking wrong on this?

We stayed at VWL in November. We had originally booked 11/27-11/30 with the member cash discount. We then found we could save $500 on air by leaving on Sat instead of Friday. I called MS and was able to book 11/30-12/1 on cash, but without the discount.

When we checked in, I told them about the additional night and they did make sure we would not have to move, however, I DID realize that was a possibility.

We had DDP for 11/27-11/30. We did NOT have the DDP for 11/30-12/1. Our reservations were not linked. I did have to go down and check in again.

If you split a stay between 2 diff resorts or 2 different categories of room (like the 2 and 1 br), you can have DDP for just one, since they are considered 2 separate reservations.

I do think, though, once you LINK the reservations, you must get DDP for the whole thing, for ex. our stay at OKW in May, we are doing points, cash for the w/e, then points. We have them all linked so we don't have to move. The DDP will be for the whole stay, I cannot have it for only the w/e without unlinking everything.

I think the way to see it is this: if you check out and then check back in, you have 2 separate reservations and can have the DDP for one and not the other. If you do NOT have to check in and out in the middle of the stay, even if you have more than 1 reservation number, then you would have to have DDP for all or nothing.
