Waitlist come through for 12/26 - 1/1?

I am a newby to DVC and didn't realize how hard it would be to get reservations for the week after Christmas at WDW resorts.

So when we called last week for reservations - of course everything was booked for the week after Christmas. So we waitlisted for any resort. I know that it's very unlikely that it will come through but we are going to let it ride for a couple of months. Has anyone had any luck getting their waitlist recently for this timeframe? I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Thanks much. I am really hoping it comes through. I check about 4 times a day to see if the points are used. However, I will be OK with it not coming through since that will mean we will go during a less busy time. I really want to see all the Christmas decorations too - so I am torn. Either way - I will be back so I will just try to be excited about December or shortly thereafter!

Have you tried the 1st or 2nd week of December ? If your schedule allows, that is a great time to go .. low crowds and lots of decorations

Hey Sam,
I booked my trip in Feb. 2007 to get Dec 26th - Jan 6th. Couldnt get sooner! Booked my parents anniversary gift for the first week of December also in Feb. & the availablilty was not alot! Best of luck!

Unfortunately, that is the only week we can get away in December. But we will definately go early next year at a slower time if our waitlist doesn't come through. I was hoping that since we will stay at any resort, that maybe *just maybe* something might come up. I haven't seen many threads yet where people have said that they had their waitlist come through this late. Can't wait until we go again either way!

the latest you should know whether or not you can get an availablity will be late october because I think thats the latest people can begin cancelling the cruise vacations without getting hit with a penalty!
