Waitlist came through......well, sort of...

We are waitlisted day by day for the week after Christmas (Dec 28-Jan 3).
We got three of the days....and yep, it is the first night and the last two.....
Oh well, we are still hoping for the 29, 30 & 31.....but prepared if it doesn't come through....please come through!!!!!!! LOL!!

Anyone have experience with that week??

Hi, kamgen. Congratulations on some of your nights coming through. It's a good start! What resort are you waitlisted for?

Last year, I had to waitlist for Dec. 30 & 31 (right in the middle of our stay) for a standard studio at BWV. Both nights did come through. This year, I'm waitlisted for Dec. 31 for a standard 2BR at BWV. Again, it's right in the middle of our stay. I'm trying to be patient. Right now that night is reserved in a preferred, but we'd obviously rather NOT move on the 31st and then move again on the 1st.

We are waitlisted for a studio at BWV, VWL, BCV, and OKW! We just want a studio somewhere! I hope it comes through...dh says we will go if we get the days, if not we just wont' go...UGH!!!!

So cross your fingers for us!

My guess is it will work out given a little time. I've got a similar wait list going and I'm getting my days in dribs and drabs. I got 12/31 at BWV yesterday. I bet there are others in the same position and once our wait list comes through, that may free up rooms elsewhere. MS said there would be lots of shuffling going on. Also, December is still a ways off and people may have "just in case" reservations that they'll release later in the year.

I just cancelled 1 bedroom at OKW for that same week 12/28-1/02/04 on Wed 6/11(we are staying at Swan at teacher's rate so we rented our points for that week), but the renters are using them in November..Hope it helped somone out!

Hey, PamOKW, what type unit came through for you at BWV for NYE? Did you find out by phone call or letter? I'm glad it worked out for you!

I keep watching my mailbox every day now that we're inside the 7 month window, hoping that my NYE comes through.

Last year the same thing happened to us. We had Dec 29th and Jan 1-4 in a 2BR Standard at BWV with a preferred 2BR for the 30th and 31st. The waitlist for Dec 30 came through at the 30 day window but the 31st never did come through. At checkin I asked if there was any way to avoid moving for just the 31st. I said they could keep the points for the preferred just as long as we didn't have to move for one night. The CM went into the back room for a while and when she came back she said we could stay in our room we just had to get new keys on the 31st and again on the 1st. They even returned the 6 point difference. We were very pleased. I assume someone must have received an upgrade.

Travlebug -- I'm on a day-by-day waitlist and they keep calling every time some part of it becomes available. I got a one-bedroom for 12/31 the other day. I had turned down a one-bedroom for 1/1-1/3 a few weeks ago because I took the BCV instead.

I have gotten all the days except the 30 and 31....so now I wait and hope!!!!!!

We don't care where we stay, we just want to go!

We just got ON the waitlist 10 minutes ago-2BR anywhere of the 4 onsite DVC. How long have you all been waiting? What are my chances? Are the 2br harder to get than ex 2 studios for that week?

I was on the wait list at OKW for a 1 bedroom for 12/30. It came thru in about 2 weeks.
Last year we added 12/26 to our trip to OKW about 3 weeks in advance. The wait list came thru in about a week. OKW is your best bet . Good Luck

So far we have gotten 4 of the nights at OKW! We don't care where we stay....OKW is wonderful, so that works for us!

I'm on the waistlist for a Grand Villa at OKW for 11/28-12/3, I bet my chances are pretty slim, but figured why not!!!

We got another night...now all we need is Dec 31! UGH!!!
Only problem is we are at a different resort for one night in the middle....oh well.....

Wow, kamgen, you've made good headway in getting your waitlisted nights. You're on a roll! Hopefully the final night will come through for you real soon.

Thanks for the reply, PamOKW. I'm not sure why some people get phone calls to notify them of waitlist success, while others get the new confirmation in the mail without getting a phone call. Any idea how that works? I'm on "automatic confirmation" basis. Thanks again.

I was asked if I wanted a call or just to get the confirmation in the mail.

Usually if you are going day by day you will get a call.

I have a reservation at BCV but I am waitlisted for VWL. The way this will work is if all my days (Dec. 30, 31 and Jan. 1) come through at VWL they will automatically cancel the BCV and put me in VWL. If all three days don't come through at VWL I will still be at BCV.

I will get a confirmation in the mail if it comes through, they won't call me.

If it works, there'll be a studio open at BCV...

I have been getting my notices in the mail too...works out well.
Still hoping for Dec. 31
