Ok, needing some assistance from the experts out there.

My 7 month window opened this morning. I was looking for a 2 bedroom LV at BLT for 3 nights. only 2 of 3 nights were available so I had to "settle" for a 2 bedroom at the GF. We would love to stay at GF, but have some little ones and the walkway from the BLT is huge for us.

After those three nights we will be moving to a studio. We have some family staying with us that are leaving, so we don't need the 2 bedroom any longer. I can't call until Saturday to book this. We are wide open on where to go, maybe staying in MK area if available or to Kidani.

Here is my issue. This trip will exhaust our 2014 and 2015 points (I am even going to have to buy 20 more one time use points). I can call Saturday and finish my reservation as is with the 20 one time use points. If I waitlist BLT, that is 18 fewer points. Where will those refunded points go? If they are 2014 points I know I can bank them to 2015, but we arent making a trip so they will essentially be wasted. I also know that if I purchase the 20 one time use points it is final. I can't go back and reapply my 18 refunded points.

Does that make any sense? What would you do in this situation? My mother and father in law are with us for the first 3 nights in the 2BR, this will be their first visit.

Am I overstating the benefit of being able to walk from BLT? I'm sure the GFV is wonderful, just don't want huge monorail/boat waits with my 6 and 1 year old.

Thanks everyone!

If you get the waitlist, the refunded points will be 2014 points. I'm assuming this because the system would not let you borrow 2015 points until your 2014 points are gone.

Even if it doesn't do so automatically, you can call and have them shift points around.

If they will be wasted, I'd book somewhere other than VGF and wait for the BLT to come through so I wouldn't have to buy those extra points. VWL would be a cheaper option.

Personally my kids love VGF more than BLT. The kiddie water play area is great. And the monorail ride is pretty quick to MK. We're usually dead tired walking back to BLT at the end of the day.

If your waitlist come through, you should be able to request that the One Time Use points be used and any current year points be banked (as long as you are still in the first eight months of your UY).

So you had a good experience with little kids at the VGF? I am not unhappy at all with staying there, we just have been accustomed to BLT.

We stayed there at the resort when our son was about eight or nine and he liked it. And the villas are right next to the highly themed Alice in Wonderland pool.

You have the monorail and boats to get to the MK. And it's a short walk to the Polynesian (and the TTC).

Just stayed at VGF with 3 boys 5 and under. Great place for kids. Poll is right there. Monorail walk might about the same as BLT. Get a standard view room and ask for a 13 and 25 ending room. View of the fireworks from those rooms.

Also with a standard view you see much more up close monorail views. We own at BLT but would switch to VGF if we had the chance.

Thanks for the advice, we are going to stick with our reservation and not worry about the wait list.

Would you suggest requesting a higher floor room as well? Looks like the ground level rooms might not be as nice on the veranda.

You'll definitely want a higher floor room to get a good view of the monorail. Otherwise, you'd be looking at it from below.
