Since I can only have two waitlists at a time, which resort do you guys think will give me the best shot at it coming through? I'm wanting to go Nov 5 to 8 for the runDisney weekend.

yes, looking for a studio. Ideally lowest point category, but I think those are probably more popular
SSR - preferred, SSR - standard, AKV - Kidani standard view, and OKW - not near HH, in that order. Pick two.

Just my opinion would be standard room. My thought being people want to be closer to Disney Springs so if they would tend to keep the preferred rooms,I dont beleive that the point differential is a factor in room choice at SSR.

I think it's probably 50/50 either way. Normally we'll go standard to save points, but sometimes stay preferred because we need to use X points in X amount of days at SSR, and preferred uses them better.

I agree with the general consensus that SSR, AKV, and OKW are the best shot with slightly more weight to SSR and AKV likelihood for a studio.

I decided to try SSR standard and AKV standard. Fingers crossed it comes through!

Thanks everyone!

Don't rely on waitlist. Keep the DVC page open in a tab on your phone and check the dates whenever you have a spare minute, and especially when you first wake up in the morning, making sure to check "All WDW Resorts". It's annoying but I have had much more success with this than with waitlisting.

The difference is 10 points for the entire stay in a studio at SSR Standard vs Preferred

I was in a circumstance where I needed to use banked points and had enough for preferred but not enough for an extra night standard, so I stayed preferred.

Of course in that case there really was no decsion to be made, Use them or lose them and we dont want that to happen.

The categories with the most studios are -

Poly Standard (288 rooms)
SS standard (264 rooms)
OKW Standard (192 rooms)
SS Preferred (168 rooms)
BWV Gdn/pool (164 rooms)
Riv Preferred (119 rooms)
Beach (110 rooms)
Kidani Savannah (105 rooms)
BLT Lake (105 rooms)

All of the other categories have less than 100. AKV standard only has 48 (Jambo) and 64 (Kidani).

I usually waitlist one of these categories because I figure that I have better odds of one in 264 people cancelling vs. one in 48 cancelling.

But also, keep checking.

One other thought- Many people have a surplus of points this year due to Covid - so the usualy thought of people dropping more "expensive" rooms might not apply.

That's really helpful, thank you! I might change the AKV waitlist for poly instead.
I've also started checking whenever I have a free second.

I really wish DVC would just let me waitlist any studio, regardless of resort.

*RIV = 72 deluxe studios (57 of which are part of a 2BR lockoff)+ 12 tower studios as of today. The rest have not been declared into DVC inventory.

That changes the potential availability considerably.

That's good to know- hadn't realized that....Thanks
