Waitlist and Borrowed Points

Newbie here. I can't get a hold of Member Services, so I'm hoping one of you can help me!

I borrowed 30 points points (half of my 60) to book a trip for this year. I also have two rooms on the waitlist. If my waitlist gets approved, will they use the 30 points that I already borrowed? The points match exactly from my waitlist. Or, will the request error out because it will try to borrow 30 more points before cancelling my request? I hope I explained this well.

It will depend on how you set up your wait list. If you set it up to replace an existing reservation, it will take points that were used for that reservation and apply them to the wait listed stay. If you didn't set it up that way, the wait list will "error out" because you cannot borrow more points to book it.

This makes sense! Thank you. I set them up to cancel the previous reservation, so I should be all set!
